Grape Straseni: description of berries

The berries of this variety are dark blue, almost black, rather large, weight 6-12 g. In mature berries, the sugar content is usually 18-21%, and the acidity is 8.4 g / l.

Each of the shoots, which develops from the central buds, is fruiting, it is able to give up to 1.2 kg of berries.

Characteristic of the variety

Grape Strashensky has a high marketability of berries, a degustation rating is 8.0 points. The flower of the variety is bisexual. The plant is resistant to mildew, phylloxera and spider mites, but is affected by gray rot and oidium. When caring for a bush, it is necessary to take into account the high fruiting ratio (2.0) and the coarsegrassness of this variety. Grapes Strashensky average drought resistance and winter hardiness.

Due to the large size of the cluster, the flowering and ripening of the grapes is slightly stretched over time. When the flowering period on the top of the cluster is already over, the bloom is only beginning on the lower part of the cluster. The same picture is observed when berries ripen. When the bulk of the bunch ripens, the bottom is only painted. That is why when rationing by some vine-growers before flowering, the bottom 1/3 of the bunch is removed. On the yield of the bush such a technique is practically not affected, since it is compensated for by the size of the berries, but the marketable appearance of the grapes considerably wins.

The coloring of berries begins at the end of July and lasts 2 weeks. The period of full ripening of the harvest occurs depending on the weather conditions and the specific terrain (approximately in the second half of August).

Despite the fact that the taste of grapes Strashensky grapes because of low sugar accumulation does not belong to the best among table varieties, but pickling and preserving berries of this class allows revealing all its advantages. Marinated Straseni grape is an excellent snack and it is to these berries that many people give their preference to olives or olives.
