What kinds are there?

A feature of these white cells is the ability to exist outside the blood vessels.

Quantitative indicators

If the granulocytes are increased, the reasons are the spread of the infection throughout the body. The analyzes indicate quantitative values of the norm in the range from 1.2 to 6.8 at 10 to 9 degrees. This total number may not change, but the ratio of neutrophils, basophils, lymphocytes and eosinophils varies. Indicates the percentage:

  1. Basophils depend on age: up to 1 year from 0.4 to 0.9%, to 21 years from 0.6 to 1%.

  3. Anemia (it is accompanied by a decrease in lymphocytes and hemoglobin).
  4. Various kinds of viral infections: herpes, hepatitis, tuberculosis, influenza.
  5. Inflammation in the body.
  6. Human irradiation with ionizing waves (this condition is called radiation sickness).
  7. Other types of violation: radiation exposure, poisoning, injuries.

Overestimated values

If the norm of granulocytes is exceeded, a corresponding diagnosis is made. So, eosinophilia is observed with a huge list of diseases: leukemia, tumor formations, allergies, irradiation, heart defects. Such a condition needs to be treated, and recovery of indicators will occur when the inflammation passes.

Neutrophilia is established after decoding of adverse analyzes. Large quantitative values, for example, speak of infection and purulent inflammation in the body. Also, granulocytes increase with myocardial infarction and poisoning after bite of insects.
