From what tree do the matches: the technology of production

There are a number of goods, without which it is impossible to do without. Bread, sugar, salt - unchanging essentials. On them, as well as on matches, the demand from the population is now and will always be. Although today there are a large number of lighters on sale - matches have been and will continue to be the most popular method of extracting fire. This article will tell the reader about the manufacturing process, the materials and equipment used. And also will explain, from what tree do matches.

Types of matches

Not all people know that, in addition to the usual (which is in every house) matches there are about a hundred different types. They differ in size, composition, color and degree of combustion. From what tree do the matches, will be discussed below, but for now we will describe the most common types:

  • Thermal - these matches can be soldered, because they emit heat in large quantities;
  • Storm - burn in the wind, under the water (hunting, wind);
  • Signal - they burn with a flame of different colors;
  • Decorative - a gift type of matches, having a color head;
  • Gas and fireplace - special long matches for firing gas stoves and fireplaces;
  • Photographic - create an instant flash.

The most popular kind on sale, certainly, household.

Production technology

What tree do the matches come from? For production, aspen and pine are used. The match is quite simple: the head and the wooden base. But the manufacturing includes many stages.

To begin with, the basis of the match is made. Which tree is better to do it? Practice shows that most companies and plants use aspen. But the pine is also famous as a good tree for matches.

Wooden bars are sawn into small pieces, the bark is removed from them. More than half of the wood is used for making match straw. The further process depends on the species. When manufacturing a square cross-section, a veneer method is used, and in the production of a round one, a stamping method is used.

In the first case, tapes are made. Their width is equal to the length of the match. Then in a special machine the tapes are cut to the straw. After that, it is cut into individual spicules. The special machine has a height of 7.5 meters and a length of 18 meters. Over an eight-hour day, she produces about 10 million copies.

In the second variant, the bars are immediately sent to the machine. There, with the help of ready-made stamps, the workpieces are cut out.

Then the base passes five baths: the match is impregnated with a fireproof solution, then one end of it is processed with paraffin. After the adhesive is applied in two layers - it forms the head finally. Then it is covered with a special layer, which protects from external influences.

After these procedures, matches are dried in a drying machine, after which they are polished, sorted along the length and section, completely eliminating the marriage.

Equipment

From what wood do matches and process of their manufacturing, we have already found out. Now we turn to the question of raw materials and equipment.

The complete cycle of the production line for the manufacture of matches in itself includes: inclined cutting machine, special drier for workpieces, selecting machine, automatic polishing machine, chemical element mixer, phosphorus carrier, box manufacturer and so on.

Raw materials

Necessary raw materials: technical potassium dichromate, copper vitriol, solid paraffin, roundwood of pine or aspen. Even a small workshop, which produces matches, should be serviced by a staff of at least ten people. Among them are several technologists, two or three line operators, ancillary workers (where without them in production), the shop manager and the loader.
