Enema before delivery

Until recently, the setting of the enema was considered an obligatory procedure before childbirth. The exception was only rapid childbirth, since in the absence of time, it would be inadvisable to risk. At present, not all maternity hospitals consider it necessary to use this method. Therefore, this issue still raises controversy, and the statement that the enema before birth gives its positive result remains unchanged for many maternity homes.

First and foremost, the production of an enema is important from a hygienic point of view, since during an attempt the intestine is almost completely cleansed, and this can not always be called one of the pleasant moments in the delivery process, either for the mother or obstetrician. In addition, many women fear of this delicate issue does not give full push. And this, of course, does not have a very favorable effect on the course of the birth process. Also, an enema before delivery will make it much easier for a woman to go to the toilet and after them, since the intestine will remain empty for about 24 hours. And if they have also been stitched, then this will be just the way.

Promotion of the fetus through the birth canal will improve significantly, because the emptied rectum will not create additional obstacles for it. If a woman suffered from constipation, then the enema before birth is just necessary for her.

Another very important point should be taken into account with regard to this issue. If the woman was not given an enema for any reasons, even if all hygiene measures are observed during the delivery, the risk of infecting the baby with feces still exists.

Of course, if someone can help to cope with the problem of emptying the stomach, then it's good. But many women have no idea how to do an enema before giving birth. In fact, this is not difficult at all. First you need to make a solution. For this simple water and a decoction of chamomile are suitable . The temperature of the liquid should not exceed thirty seven degrees. Then it is necessary to fill it with a rubber vessel designed for such activities. It is best to do an enema while standing on all fours or lying on your left side. The volume of injected liquid should be equal to one and a half liters. The tip should be lubricated with vaseline or cream, so that the process of entering it into the anus is smooth. Feeling of gradual filling of the intestine should occur as the fluid enters. At the same time, care should be taken to ensure that air does not enter the intestine. If there is a feeling of discomfort, then you need to relax, pat yourself on the stomach, while making a slow deep breath. After that, you can immediately visit the toilet. If there is any doubt about the complete emptying of the stomach, then the procedure can be repeated after forty minutes, while you need to make sure that all of the liquid that was injected has come out. It is necessary to remember the most important thing: if attempts have begun, an enema is not recommended.

Many are concerned with the question of what procedures are performed before delivery. First of all, if fights or amniotic fluid have started, you should immediately come to the hospital in any convenient way.

Initially, the woman in attendance enters the waiting room, where the doctor in detail asks about the course of pregnancy, gets acquainted with the exchange card, performs an external examination, measures the temperature. After that, the woman is transferred to the examination room. Here, a more detailed examination is performed: the patient is weighed, pelvic dimensions, abdominal circumference are measured, and the uterine condition is evaluated. Also determine the position of the fetus, listen to his heartbeat. Then check what the swelling of the woman is and measure blood pressure. The results of the examinations are immediately recorded in a special card. At the end of the examination, the woman in labor is sanitized: removing the scalp from the external genitalia, directing her into the shower, and, as mentioned earlier, an enema is made before delivery. Upon completion of the sanitary treatment, a sterile shirt and gown are issued to the woman. In the event that the birth is approached closely, the patient is sent to the prenatal ward. Here it is before the attempts. The last destination is the delivery room, where the child is born.
