Each needlewoman knows that when the next work has come to an end and the picture is completed, it's time to think about how to decorate the embroidery.

If we talk about the shape of the framework for needlework, then when choosing it, the shape of the embroidery itself is usually taken into account: the round work will look great in a round baguette, the work of a rectangular shape in a rectangular shape.

But if the shape of the frame is determined not so difficult, then how to choose the right color? Here there is no universal recipe, because each embroidered picture is individual, so in this matter you can be guided only by general recommendations. You can choose the frame of the shade, which is most often found in the very embroidery or shade with the frame the most inconspicuous and little-used color.

The design of embroidery is not such a simple occupation, as it may seem at first glance. You should take into account the combination of the plot of the picture and the style of its frame: embroidery on the theme of Japanese painting will look great in the frame under the bamboo, the icon is better placed in a frame of noble wood, the forest landscape - in a stylized "under the nut." To the great regret of the embroiderers, the choice of the original ready-made frames is very limited, they are often represented only by traditional shapes and shades, so finding suitable is sometimes quite difficult. Often for embroidery with an uncomplicated plot, so-called "flexi-hoops" are used, reminiscent of conventional hoops. In this frame-hoop outer ring is made of special elastic material, and instead of the tightening screw there is a loop, for which, at the end of the work, the frame with the picture is hung on the wall.

The design of embroidery in a baguette in some cases occurs immediately, but sometimes between a picture and a frame place a special cardboard - "passepartout". You can make it yourself, for this purpose a hole is cut out in colored paper, which repeats the shape of the embroidered picture. Correctly matched passepartout can make a big impact on the overall appearance of the work. Embroidery design can be a very fascinating experiment, if you try different combinations of shades of the picture, passepartout and frame. However, the baguette or the passepartout should not overshadow the picture. The main thing is the merits of the work itself, and the design of embroidery should in no case play a major role here.

As for the use of glass in the design of work, there may also be options. Of course, when using glass, embroidery loses a bit in terms of texture and volume, but if the work is planned to be exhibited, then glass can not be dispensed with. To date, baguette workshops offer several varieties of glass: ordinary, matte, museum and krileks. If we talk about ordinary glass, then its main drawback is that it reflects what is happening around and has a property to create highlights. The frosted glass certainly costs a little more, but it does not appear glossy, due to the fact that it passes special treatment. But even matte glass has one very significant drawback. Unfortunately, it is capable of imparting blur to the work, which significantly worsens their appearance. Museum glass is absolutely devoid of all the above mentioned shortcomings, but its price is high enough, so this option is not always and not suitable for everyone.
