Cinema began to attract the boy from his teenage years, and already then he began to make the first steps towards the production of his own paintings. In the 80's and 90's. To the light there are a lot of short films, all work on which was completely conducted by Edgar Wright. These films (at least the majority) have not survived to the present day. Even then, the boy has his own style, despite the fact that he mostly took pictures of the masterpieces of the classics of cinema art with a vivid mix of genres. The first works of the director, which won success, were paintings Dead Right and "Handful of fingers." The latter even showed on the air that attracted to the young talent of comedians Matt Lucas and David Welliams, thanks to whom Edgar Wright began to work on television.

"Fucked up"

In 1996, fateful acquaintance of future inseparable colleagues and friends - Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg. Together they work in the television project "Psychiatric Hospital". Later, when Pegg and Jessica Heiens begin to write the script for the future series "The Lost One", they are visited by the idea of inviting Wright as a director. It is thanks to him that this situational comedy is painted with colors that are not inherent in the genre. He uses the techniques that are characteristic of horror and science fiction, which gave the series a special charm and uniqueness. In addition, Edgar Wright never stinted on sending, so the show is just full of them, and completely open.

"Trilogy of three flavors" Cornetto "

It can be said that it was this series of paintings, released with large interruptions, became the director's calling card. Many authors have the idea to give several different stories with completely different characters, but with the same actors, a certain relationship and combine them under a common name. The same method was used by Edgar Wright. Films "Zombies by the Name of Sean" (2004), "The tough steep type" (2007) and "Armageddets" (2013) turned into the famous trilogy of the director called "Blood and Ice Cream". Each of them is a parody of a well-known, worn-out genre, and all of them ridicule the inherent stamps and clichés. In all three paintings there are allusions not only to classical works of cult directors, but also to other films of the trilogy. In the lead roles remained irremovable Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. It is the characters of the latter in each tape who ask to buy the Cornetto ice cream, and it always has different tastes and colors.

"Scott Pilgrim Against All"

All parts of the trilogy were warmly received by the public and critics, and for the picture of "Zombie named Sean" Edgar Wright even received 2 awards. However, his next work, unfortunately, was not so successful and failed at the box office, even without having paid off the budget. She became a screen version of the comic book series of Brian Lee O'Malley about Scott Pilgrim, who must defeat the seven evil guys of eccentric Ramona to start dating her.

The main role in the film entitled "Scott Pilgrim Against All" was played by the famous young actor Michael Sera. In addition, he also starred such famous personalities as Jason Schwartzman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Chris Evans and Anna Kendrick. But even they could not save the project. Perhaps the reason for the collapse is that the picture is designed for a very narrow audience - geeks, who are fond of old computer games and prefixes, comic books and manga. However, commercial success is not what Edgar Wright primarily counts on. It is important for him to create and express things in the outer world that are close to him personally in the spirit of things, and to bring the picture to perfection.

Subsequent and future projects

In 2011, Wright became one of the co-authors of the script for Steven Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin: The Mystery of the Unicorn." But the most time-consuming and time-consuming work of the director was "The Man-Ant" about the famous superhero Marvel. He begins work on the plot and script back in 2006, but a year before the release of the film in the rental on the Internet there was sad news that the director's chair will be occupied by someone else. The most common reason for this was creative disagreement with the studio, which did not give the author the freedom to embody his ideas. Producers found a new director and hired other writers to correct the plot that Edgar Wright had created for so long. The filmography of an outstanding cinematographer does not end there. Now he is actively working on the film "The Young Driver". The project is still at the stage of preparation for the shooting, but it is already known that the main roles were given to Lily James, Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx and Ansel Elgort. This time, no mention of participation in the picture of the duet Pegg-Frost, but, no doubt, it will be no less memorable than the previous films of the British director.
