ECG of the heart - an excellent method of diagnosing diseases

According to statistics, mortality due to heart disease is constantly increasing. The reasons are completely different. Someone with congenital heart problems, someone begins to suffer heart pain from adolescence, and someone in the prime of life suddenly finds a heart attack, although there were no prerequisites for it as such. Therefore, for prophylaxis 2 times a year it is necessary to undergo an ECG of the heart. This is especially true for those who lead a wrong and unhealthy lifestyle (monotonous food, smoking, drugs and alcohol), which significantly increases the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.

ECG-examination of the heart must be completed with:

- Rheumatic diseases;

- syphilis;

- diseases caused by high blood pressure, or atherosclerosis;

- congenital heart diseases;

- Functional diseases.

ECG of the heart is a medical test that controls the electrical activity of the myocardium, marking each stroke of the heart with a pointed line. According to the frequency of waves, including their appearance, a cardiologist can diagnose heart diseases. The procedure itself is quite simple and does not cause unpleasant sensations.

ECG of the heart does not require special preparation. However, you need to pay attention to the fact that many drugs can change the results of this test. Be sure to tell your doctor about all medications taken. On the day of the procedure, strong physical exertion should be avoided (at least 2 hours before it).

For the ECG, the patient should lie on the couch, remove all jewelry from the neck, hands and wrists. Men tend to lay bare their torso for the duration of the test. Women can leave a T-shirt or a dress. If you wear stockings, they need to be removed. To the extremities, one electrode is attached, which are pre-lubricated with a special gel. Six electrodes are attached to the chest. After this, the patient needs to relax and lie down quietly for a few seconds. At the end of the test, the doctor evaluates the results of the cardiogram and writes the conclusion. Having studied the results of the electrocardiogram, the doctor prescribes treatment.

The cardiac ECG shows the rhythm of the heart activity. With any deviations or doubts in the accuracy of the results obtained, other checks and procedures will be assigned (for a more detailed diagnosis of the disease).

With more careful examination, an ECG with exercise is performed. In this case, the electrodes are attached to the patient during exercise, and the study takes longer than usual. This kind of survey should be prepared more seriously. For three hours before the procedure, it is recommended to refrain from eating food and water. One day before the electrocardiogram with the load, as prescribed by the doctor, it is necessary to stop taking certain drugs that stimulate the heart. ECG with exercise can not be performed after physical exertion. The body should be rested and relaxed.

After heart disease has been diagnosed and treatment has been performed, it is necessary to re-perform the ECG to determine the effectiveness of the treatment and the stability of the condition.
