The Legend of the Education of the Czech State

For the first time the Czech state was formed at the end of the 9th century. Then on its territory the Slavic tribes began to unite. The first princely family on the Czech throne was Prshemyslovychi. An ancient legend tells about its beginning. The people were brought to the Czech territory by the forefather named Chekh. He managed the country for a long time and reasonably. After his death, the board passed into the hands of one of his three daughters, who was called Libuše.

Like her sisters, Libushe was a wise and glorious ruler. However, later, men in the country mutinied that they were ruled by a woman. They demanded that Libushe choose her husband. Then the girl said that they were walking along the road, and they brought a plowman to her, whom they would see on the second day of the journey. Everything happened according to the words of the prophetess, and the first prince of the Czech Republic was plowman Přemysl.
