Cyprus, Seagull Hotel Apts 3 *. Reviews of tourists

Holidays in Cyprus - it's always fine. A mild climate, white beaches and crystal waves - a fabulous island where Aphrodite emerged from the sea foam.

In Cyprus, there are many hotels for every taste in both the Greek and Turkish sectors. This article provides information about the reviews of tourists who visited Seagull Hotel Apts 3 - a small hotel in the resort town of Protaras in the Turkish part of the island.

Protaras

In ancient times Protaras was an ancient Greek polis (from which small ruins were preserved). In 1974, this part of Cyprus was occupied by the Turks, and the development of the resort industry began in Protaras. Dozens of hotel complexes, restaurants and entertainment centers are built here.

The best beaches of Cyprus are in Protaras, for example, the world famous Gulf of fig trees (fig trees), near which the Seagull Hotel Apts 3 * is located.

Protaras has a reputation as a resort for a quiet and peaceful holiday. In search of more active entertainment, you can go to the neighboring village of Ayia Napa (6 km), where the youth audience gathers.

Among the local attractions, mention should be made of a medieval Orthodox church dedicated to Elijah the Prophet (14th century) and built on the top of a hill, which offers an amazing view of the sea coast.

Climate and beaches

The climate in Protaras is subtropical (as on the whole island) - dry hot summer (25-40 degrees), warm spring and autumn (30 centigrade), not cold winter (15 heat). For the Russian tourists accustomed to the cold, this means that you can rest here all year round - at any time warm.

The beaches stretch almost a continuous sandy strip and are the best in Cyprus. Here there are no high waves, sand is small and clean, the entrance to the sea is gentle, the water is warm and transparent (with the most beautiful shades of blue and emerald color) - a paradise for relaxation with children.

From the hotel "Seagull" (Seagull Hotel Apts 3 *) to the municipal beach just 2 minutes walk. It is a calm bay, where you can not only swim, but also engage in diving, as well as other types of water sports.

On the beaches there is no pandemonium, you can always find a free place. The most well-equipped beach is in the village of Ayia Napa (the neighboring resort). Excellent beach in the Gulf of the fig trees near the hotel "Chaika" (you can take a bus for one and a half euros). One of the most beautiful is Konnos Bay, on which you have to go down a magnificent path (it can be reached on foot from Seagull Hotel Apts, but with the child the transition will be difficult).

Near Cape Greco also has a nice beach and Pirate caves, where tourists have fun jumping off a cliff.

Very popular beaches in the bay of Pernera (200 meters from the "Seagull"), they are often called chamber for privacy, coziness and tranquility.

Tourists who lived in Seagull Hotel Apts 3 * report that on any beach for sunbed and umbrella you have to pay 5-7 euros (depending on the particular beach), and in local stores you can buy a beach umbrella for 10-11 euros.

The rooms do not have a TV, but there is a radio, a bathroom with a bath (soap, shampoo, gel, toilet paper are provided), a balcony, air conditioning, a hairdryer and a kitchenette with a set of dishes and household appliances.

Internet in the rooms there (only in the lobby). For an additional fee you can take a safe (10 euros per week), but it is very small, only for documents, and the tablet, for example, does not fit.

Tourists who lived in Seagull Hotel Apts 3 * (Protaras), note that there are no insects in the hotel, the rooms are spacious, but there is no place to hang wet swimsuits and towels - there is no rope or hanger on the balcony.

Conditioners are often installed directly in front of the bed, so some tourists moved their beds (and the cleaners put them back on a daily basis), while others changed their head and slept with their feet to the air conditioner.

All the balconies of the studio apartments face Protaras Street or the parking lot (almost always empty) with a view of the mountains and trees.

The furniture is upholstered in dermantinom, the water is pumped into the toilet by a special lever.

In general, tourists are satisfied with the accommodation at Seagull Hotel Apts 3 *. The photo below gives an idea of a typical studio room.

Kitchen Area

Seagull Hotel Apts 3 * (Tophostels) is popular due to the economical living and kitchen corners in all apartments, which include the following:

  • Crockery (large and small pan, frying pan, cups, glasses and glasses, milkman, plates and saucers, forks, spoons and a knife, colander).
  • Corkscrew and cutting board.
  • Electric kettles (large and brewed), a toaster, a coffee maker (without filters, one must buy separately) and a hand-held juicer.
  • Electric stove with oven.
  • Sink with cold and hot water.
  • Lockers, table and chairs.
  • Refrigerator (roomy, but the freezer is weak).

Location of the hotel

Hotel Seagull Hotel Apts 3 * is located 2 km from the center of the resort town of Protaras and 60 km from the international airport in Larnaca (the transfer to the hotel takes an hour and a half since the Seagull is at the very end of Protaras).

Nearby there is a car rental and a bus stop, from where you can go to almost any city in Cyprus.

"Seagull" is located near several beautiful beaches with a gentle bottom and quiet clear water, so there are many children here, and for tourists with kids there is always a cheerful company.

In the town there are a lot of different cafes, taverns and shops, as well as a picturesque promenade (promenade), connecting all the beaches of Protaras.

Accommodation

Many tourists report their impressions of staying at Seagull Hotel Apts 3 * (Cyprus). The reviews confirm the good reputation of the hotel.

The spacious and comfortable studio apartments are noted, the air conditioners work well, they cool almost the entire room.

The pool is large and comfortable, there are bars and cafes in the hotel and on the territory.

The kitchen corner is well equipped, there is everything necessary for cooking and receiving guests.

The following shortcomings are also mentioned in the reviews:

  • Dermantinovoy cover of sofas and armchairs;
  • Inconvenient location of air conditioners;
  • Lack of TV;
  • Cold floors (covered with tiles);
  • Noise (loud music from a street bar opposite and a hotel bar near the pool).

External stimuli

Annoying noise is noted by almost all tourists who lived in Seagull Hotel Apts 3 *. The reviews are full of messages about constant music from two bars - outside on the street and inside near the pool.

In all rooms below the 4th floor, many tourists could not fall asleep at night (music plays up to 2 hours), nor during the day (noise starts at 11 am). Closed windows and balconies and air-conditioners included did not help.

For elderly people and holidaymakers with children the opportunity to sleep normally is of great importance, so you should pay attention to this feature when choosing a hotel.

On the other hand, many tourists believe that music does not interfere much - with closed windows and headphones they slept quietly in their apartments. In addition, there are people who go to bed late.

Also, it should not be forgotten that loud music in bars is characteristic not only of the Chaika hotel, but also of most hotels in many popular resorts. Therefore, changing the place of residence does not always help to solve the problem.

And, finally, proximity to the bar gives one advantage - a good signal Wi-Fi and the ability to watch movies peacefully on the Internet in your room (in headphones), not paying attention to external stimuli.

Service

The staff of the hotel complex Protaras Seagull Hotel Apts 3 is always attentive and responsive, but there are no Russian-speaking staff at the reception, although there are maids speaking Russian and you can always ask them to help in communicating with the administrators.

The rooms are daily cleaned thoroughly (tips - 1 euro - usually left on the table). Very clean in the pool and on the playground, the territory is well looked after.

If vacationers arrived before 14.00 (when the settlement begins), they can leave their luggage in the storage room and go to the beach.

At the reception you can ask for an iron or adapter to charge the phone - employees will always meet (you need to pay a deposit, which is returned on departure).

Dining at the hotel

The price includes only a continental breakfast - the same set of products every day:

  • Tea, coffee, milk, juice (2 types, diluted concentrate);
  • Yoghurt with jam (4 types);
  • Croutons, toast, margarine (no butter);
  • Fried eggs, fried potatoes, sausages;
  • Omelet (once a week);
  • Canned beans, olives, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers;
  • Bread, cereals (muesli of 4 types);
  • Processed cheese and inexpensive sausage;
  • watermelon.

It should be remembered that there is no baking, fruit, butter, milk porridge - so many people (especially children) prefer not to take breakfast at all, but cook in the room.

Self-catering

Near the hotel there are many shops with products, as well as taverns and restaurants, where you can order wonderful dishes of Cypriot cuisine (very large portions, so you can take for two), as well as soups for children, seafood, etc.

For example, a hot meat dish with a side dish and a salad of fresh vegetables costs 6-10 euros (in institutions with live music - 11-14 euros). For regular customers who come for the second time, give a 10% discount.

In restaurants, you can have a delicious dinner for 30-40 euros for two (with alcohol).

According to reviews, in the neighborhood stores a very limited range of products and high prices, so you have to go to a large supermarket - there is cheaper.

It is interesting that everywhere in Cyprus is not very good coffee, even in a cafe. Lipton tea in bags costs 4 euros. But pizza is much better than in Russia.

Leisure

Tours are cheaper to take in the agencies on the streets of the town, and not at the tour operator. The duration is a full day, with a dry breakfast, to the buses must go out at 6.30 in the morning. The following trips are offered:

  • "Lux Grand Tour" (with the tasting of olives, wines, liqueurs and other local products).
  • "Sea Safari" (10 euros, children under 12 years free of charge, from 10.30 to 13.30, boat ride along the shore, swimming in the lagoon).
  • "On land and at sea" (excursion on the beaches, swimming in the lagoon).

Those who do not want to get up early and like independent rest, it is better to rent a car, ATV or buggies to drive independently in Paralimni, Famagusta and Ayia Napa, visit the fountain show, water park and other interesting places.

For children, many playgrounds and attractions (near taverns and hotels) have been built. At 20.00, a children's disco begins at the Crown Resort hotel.

Tips for tourists

Here is a list of things to take with you when you go to the Chaika hotel in Cyprus:

  • Rope with clothespins (dry wet swimsuits and towels on the balcony).
  • Express porridge (for children).
  • Shampoo and gel (sometimes they are not in the room).
  • Slippers (cold floor).
  • Ear plugs or headphones (noise from the bar).
  • Tea and coffee bags.
  • English dictionary (can be electronic on the phone).
  • A comfortable kitchen knife (in the room usually obtuse and old).
  • Flash drive with movies, books and games (in the rooms there is no Internet).
  • Beach towels (hotel does not provide).
  • Light plaid (put on the dermantinovy sofa and use when traveling).

Also, many tourists advise the following:

  • Take products in large supermarkets: "Metro" (go towards Paralimni) and Lind in Protaras (on foot for half an hour or by bus for one and a half euros).
  • Order a dry breakfast from the evening if an excursion is planned in the morning.
  • Buy a beach umbrella in the store (cheaper than every day to pay), and then sell it to other vacationers.

Conclusion

Hotel "Chaika" is a quite satisfactory variant of budgetary rest for those who do not want to overpay for relative luxury and swans from towels, but prefers to travel more, returning to the hotel only to spend the night or wash.
