"Clomid" in bodybuilding: use, side effects

Taking steroids, every athlete should understand that he is doing some harm to his body. Of course, with a correctly constructed course, the risk of side effects is minimized. What is Clomid?

This remedy is also known under other names: clomiphene citrate, "Klostilbegit" and actually "Klomid". The drug we are considering is an antiestrogen belonging to the group of triphenylethylenes. It is classified as a selective modulator of estrogen receptors, which has a mixed agonistic and antagonistic effect. The main reason for the "Clomid" in bodybuilding has found wide application is its ability to block the action of estrogens, which is achieved by binding the active substance to receptors in certain tissues. At the same time, "Clomid" can behave quite differently in bone tissue, where, on the contrary, it activates estrogen receptors, which increases their concentration.

In men, "Clomifene" (the most common trade name) acts as an antiestrogen, preventing the appearance of negative feedbacks of female hormones, on the hypothalamus. In addition, it stimulates increased secretion of GnRH (gonadoliberin). All this increases the production of testosterone (the main male hormone) testicles. These properties of "Clomid" prevent the risk of gynecomastia (the growth of the mammary gland in men) and fluid accumulation.

Disadvantages of "Clomid"

Like other drugs, "Clomid" has its drawbacks:

• It inhibits the production of insulin-like growth factor-1;
• Significantly inhibits the function of the testicles;
• Increases the secretion of globulin, which binds the human sex hormones;
• The possibility of increasing the concentration of estrogens with the systematic use of "Clomid" (it is worth to distinguish the concept of blocking the action of estrogens and increasing their concentration);
• May impair vision in the long term.

As you can see, "Clomid" (in bodybuilding this remedy is used quite often) has very unpleasant side effects, which in every person can manifest in different ways. With regard to increasing the concentration of estrogens, they can really be very much (in the analysis of blood), but most will be inactive.

Aromatase inhibitors

When taking a course of steroids, the most optimal option may be the use of aromatase inhibitors. In the post-Soviet space, Proviron is very popular. Why? The fact is that it does not adversely affect the production of growth hormone, and also helps to increase the concentration of anabolic hormones in the blood by suppressing the aromatization. At the same time, it has a relatively low price. Remember also that if you take steroids that are not prone to aromatization, then there is simply no need to take aromatase inhibitors. The more expensive analogue of Proviron, but also much more qualitative, is Anastrozole.

The fact is that the level of estrogen in the blood rises after the first week of the course, so "Clomid" in bodybuilding should be taken from this moment. Now we will cite several popular courses that contribute to the rapid build-up of muscle mass and strength. And in each of them will be present "Clomid" as an indispensable element of the steroid cycle and PCT.

One of the most popular combined courses is a bunch of "Stanozolol" (tablet form "Winstrol") and testosterone. What is a similar scheme (suitable for more or less experienced athletes, whose experience in bodybuilding is 1-2 years), will show the table.
