Chuvashia is a national park "Chavash Varmane"

Shemurshinsky district of the Republic of Chuvashia is a zone where the national natural complex "Chavash Varmane" is located. This reserve is characterized by a unique variety of plant and animal species, amazing natural corners, striking in its beauty.

General information

The national park "Chavash Varmane" was founded in 1993. Its area exceeds 25 thousand hectares. The climate that dominates its lands is characterized by: a warm summer season, a long cold winter, freezing in the early autumn and late spring. The temperate wind prevails in this natural zone of Chuvashia from the south or east.

Usually the snow covers the territory of the park, when the first half of November passes. Sometimes the snow cover reaches a thickness of 50-60 cm. In the zone of the reserve there are many rivers and streams, differing by winding channels. There are many clean lakes on its territory.

The national park "Chavash Varmane" extends on the lands, which in the distant past were the contact zone of the cultures of farmers and nomads. The mounds located on its territory are referred to the monuments of the carving culture.

In the reserve you can observe spiritual monuments of the past: places that were intended for offering sacrifices to pagan gods, prayers.

In the park there is a large number of historical monuments: the remains of ancient settlements, mounds, ancient cemeteries. The most significant of them is the Karpinsky zasechnaya line, designed in the olden days to protect the borders of Russia from the attack of steppe nomads. The increased interest of tourists is also caused by places where iron ore was extracted in ancient times and where the factory on which cloth was manufactured was located.

Park flora

The national park "Chavash Varmane" is full of unique plants. It is the site of the growth of a large number of representatives of the flora, characteristic of the swampy terrain, coniferous forests, forest-steppe and southern taiga. Of particular value is the species of the oldest flora and the mysterious family of orchids.

On the grounds of the natural reserve there are original natural complexes:

• Formation of forests where pine and spruce grow.
• Lime trees, oaks and pine trees.

• Black alder, fir and oaks.

In the national natural complex "Chavash Varmane" grows a rich set of plants, serving as raw materials for the production of various medicines. Its flora contains about 800 species of higher plants, which have vessels and tubes necessary for the circulation of nutrients. Some of them belong to rare and endangered species of flora, are listed in the Red Book.

Animal world

In the park "Chavash Varmane" (Chuvashia can rightly be proud of its unique national treasure), many species of animals, birds, reptiles and fish live. A certain number of insects and vertebrates living in this park are included in the list of rare and endangered species of the fauna

Not only unique plants and the magnificence of the landscape are the national park "Chavash Varmane". Animals that live on the protected lands of the complex (moose, hares, squirrels, badgers, lynxes and others) are common in Russia. About 90 percent of representatives of the animal kingdom of Chuvashia live in the reserve.

Development of tourist destinations

Hiking is practiced on the protected territory of the park. It provides wonderful opportunities to relax your soul, to enjoy the unity with nature.

In the reserve "Chavash Varmane", the location of which is Shemurshinsky district of the Republic of Chuvashia, there are eight pedestrian routes for visitors. To rest was easy and caused only pleasant emotions, parking for tourists are equipped with "wood furniture".

The most popular is the ecological path, which has a length of seven kilometers and runs through the most unique natural corners of the park. According to proven data, in a year it is overcome by not less than a thousand vacationers.

Hunting in this national park is not allowed. But it is possible to collect ecologically clean mushrooms and berries here unhindered. The visitors of the reserve have a unique opportunity to photograph representatives of rare species of animals living in the reserve, to swim in the purest water of rivers and lakes located in the zone of its location. Fans of kayak sport also prefer to rest in this wonderful place.
