  • Risk factors include uncontrolled use of medications;
  • In addition, the disease can develop as a result of malnutrition, the constant use of spicy and spicy food and alcohol;
  • To the inflammation of the mucous membrane can lead and the use of certain toxins, in particular, salts of heavy metals and arsenic;
  • Enteritis can develop against a background of parasitic diseases, for example, if there are worms in the intestine that damage the mucous membrane;
  • Certain diseases of the circulatory system, in particular, vascular insufficiency, create excellent conditions for the development of the inflammatory process;
  • If it is a chronic enteritis, then, as a rule, it occurs when the acute form of the disease is treated improperly.

The main symptoms of enteritis

In fact, the signs of the disease can be different, everything depends on the form of the disease, the stage of its development and severity. In any case, enteritis symptoms are divided into two forms: intestinal and extra-intestinal.

  • As a rule, at the initial stages of the development of the disease, normal absorption of bile acids is disrupted, which leads to a disruption of normal digestion. Patients complain of persistent diarrhea. In addition, the symptoms can be attributed to pain in the middle part of the abdomen. Soreness increases significantly after 3 to 4 hours after ingestion. Flatulence and swelling are also symptoms of enteritis.
  • As for the extraintestinal signs, they are associated with a violation of normal metabolism and absorption processes, as the mucous membrane becomes thinner and gradually ceases to perform the basic functions as the disease progresses. To this group of symptoms it is possible to carry constant fatigue, decrease in working capacity, increased irritability. In connection with anemia and impaired absorption of vitamins there is dry skin, brittle and hair loss, puffiness, muscle weakness.

Enteritis: how to treat?

Treatment depends on the form and severity of the disease. Typically, the doctor prescribes a course of antibiotics. It is also necessary to take sorbents (activated charcoal), which quickly remove toxins from the intestine. An extremely important part of the treatment is the right diet. In the first two days, the diet should be limited to 500 ml of rice broth. In the future, the menu can gradually introduce additional products, which the doctor recommends. It also shows the intake of vitamins and preparations containing useful minerals, in particular, iron - this will help to fill the nutritional deficiency.
