Car tuning VAZ: acoustic shelf

If you purchased and installed the most expensive acoustics in the car, and the sound of the music is still bad, do not look for a problem in the speakers and the radio. Perhaps the reason is in the standard shelf. It constantly vibrates, creaks and rattles. Solve this problem can only acoustic shelf, which differs from the standard with its heavy weight and greater rigidity. These two characteristics distinguish it from the factory analog for the better. Thus, the acoustic shelf contributes to the quality sound of music. By the way, it is not necessary to buy it in stores, especially since the price for it is not quite democratic. It is quite possible to make such a detail with our own hands, especially since all the work will take us several hours of time. Below we will consider how the acoustic regiment VAZ-2107 and 2114 is made.

Instruments

In order to produce this part, we need a foundation, that is, a chipboard. All material is not necessary to buy in specialized stores. Even the chipboard from which the old cabinet or cabinet is made is suitable. Also, we need a casing (alcantra), a can of assembly foam, an electric jigsaw, a cardboard, a drill and several screws.

Getting Started

Of course, a large piece of chipboard has a lot of differences from the car shelf. Therefore, first of all we need to rebuild the sheet for the design of the future part. The acoustic shelf VAZ-2114 or 2107 should have special stiffeners, a place for lighting, fasteners and, of course, under the speakers. In order not to lose with the dimensions, we remove the standard shelf and measure its dimensions. We transfer all the results to a sheet of chipboard and cut off the excess using a jigsaw. In the process of work, pay special attention to those places from which the lighting system and fixing bolts will go.

Further, the acoustic shelf must be treated with a mounting foam. You should start this process from the back side, after which you can also process the front side for reliability. After applying the foam, you can proceed to the next step. Remember that it must be completed before the material is dried. So, we cover the front side of the product with cardboard, we mount the sheet of chipboard on top and cover all the alcantra. At this stage, the acoustic shelf is ready. But before it can be used, experts recommend putting a ballast weighing 35-45 kilograms on it, and under the ready device it is recommended to install special supports that will not allow the product to bend. All this is done to ensure that the shelf is normally "attached" to a new location (similar to running the engine after a major overhaul). After 5-6 days, such a design with ballast can be removed and included music to the fullest.

Calculate the cost of work

For the production of the shelf, we needed a 10-millimeter sheet of plywood valued at 400 rubles, fasteners (about 200 rubles) and alcantra for plating (also about 500 rubles). It turns out that the entire acoustic regiment cost us about 1,100 rubles. On SRT for such work would be asked several times more.
