Vladlen Bakhnov, who was the constant co-author of Gaidai during his work on the paintings "Twelve Chairs", "Ivan Vasilievich Changes His Profession" and "Sportloto-82", helped to write the script to the great director.

The first short story that the viewer sees when watching the comedy Gaidai is "Crime and Punishment". In the movie "Can not be" the actors mock at the weaknesses of their heroes. In the first novel, he gets a good head of the Soviet shops in the collective image of Gorbushkin (Mikhail Pugovkin).

Gorbushkin is unclean by the hand. Therefore, when a summons comes to him to appear to the investigator, the man begins a panic: he is sure that they will put him. The same opinion and the wife of Gorubshkin (Nina Grebeshkova). Therefore, when the spouse goes to the police station, Anna Gorbushkina turns out an ebullient activity, without even asking her husband's permission. What for? After all, it's already over!

Anna divorces her husband, sells out all the property and already finds a new suitable party in the person of her neighbor (Mikhail Svetin). And all this woman turns in one day. On the sale of Gorbushkin's property, his brother-in-law makes good money (Vyacheslav Nevinny). It is impossible to describe the horror of the protagonists when Gorbushkin himself breaks their idyll, returning at the end of the day from the site where he was summoned only as a witness.

In the center of the plot are two married couples and two more characters. All of them meet secretly with each other, despite the marriage ties that bind some of the heroes. All the secret becomes obvious, when the unfaithful husbands, wives and their lovers meet in an absurd accident in the same communal room. Now they have to make a difficult decision about what to do next with their confused personal life.

Novella "Wedding Accident"

Novel "Wedding Accident" is devoted to the incredible story of Vladimir Zavitushkin (Leonid Kuravlev), who quickly decided to marry the girl, but does not remember her name or her appearance.

Wandering at his own wedding, arranged in a communal apartment, the hero of the film finds it difficult to find out his own bride (Valentina Telichkina). The film "Can not be" ends with a grandiose scandal when Zavitushkin accepts his bride for his mother-in-law and publicly insults her. In addition to L. Kuravlev and V. Telichkina, the last novel of the film also featured Lyudmila Shagalova, Georgy Vitsin, Saveliy Kramarov, Svetlana Kharitonova and Sergei Filippov.
