Burning man festival: look into the future, light it up!

All have long been accustomed to various creative and music festivals in the open air. Modern artists are happy to share their work with the public, demonstrating it sometimes in the most unusual forms. And what about the art of the future? The Burning man festival annually takes place in the American desert and gives maximum opportunities for self-expression in any genres.

Event History

Once, according to some sources, back in the 80s of the last century the company of friends went on an unusual journey. This trip was not yet a festival, as the number of participants did not exceed a couple of dozen. For a whole week among the sands young people were engaged in pure creativity - they arranged installations, sculptures, created some art objects. Before returning home, they built a tall sculpture of a man and burned it. Today, the Burning man festival is an incredibly popular event for which about 50 thousand visitors from all over the world come annually.

Burning man festival: photos, traditions, rules

The organizers of the event annually come up with a new theme for the event. It should correspond to art objects, works of art and other types of self-expression of participants. The Burning man festival starts at night on the last Monday of August and lasts exactly eight days. The venue is the Black Rock Desert (Nevada). The culmination of the event is the burning of a huge human sculpture. No wonder, in a literal translation into Russian, Burning man means a burnt person. Organizers argue that the festival allows you to move for some time to the future and in a free manner to fantasize about what awaits humanity. The burning of a scarecrow symbolizes the return of all participants to the present, their ordinary life.

All guests of the festival must be ready for active work, it is accepted to respond to the requests of strangers and provide all possible assistance to those in need. The festival should not contradict the laws of the state and the state. Each participant of the festival as a conscious citizen is obliged to observe the framework of law and order. One of the most important rules sounds simple: do not leave a trace. After the end of the festival, it is required to clean up for themselves, take out all the garbage and dismantle all the buildings erected for living and domestic needs. The team of volunteers has been analyzing art objects for a week after the event.

Actual information for guests

There are two options for getting to the festival. Immediately after the end of the event, the organizers announce the next topic. You can try to register as a member or purchase a regular ticket. In the second case, you should be extremely careful. For example, tickets for the Burning man festival-2015 appeared on sale in February and were sold out literally in half a day.

An important condition: the organizers do not provide accommodation for guests and participants of the festival. Take care of your life in the harsh desert, everyone who comes here has to own it.
