Awesome Animals of Australia

The fauna of Australia is completely unique and surprising. In no other corner of the globe there are animals that live happily on this continent. And not only because in Australia there are animals that have died out all over the planet. Such rare animals as echidna and platypus, even in a fossil state, are unknown to scientists. Like the oldest mammals, they lay eggs, and then their hatched cubs are fattened with milk. On all continents there are predatory animals that feed on their brethren, in Australia there are no such animals. Once there was a marsupial wolf on the continent , but it was completely destroyed.

The only predator on the Australian continent is the wild dingo dog, which was brought from South-East Asia. Animals of Australia do not have enemies and feel free and free. The rabbits brought here could so proliferate that they had eaten all the pastures clean, leaving without feed and local animals and livestock. Animals of Australia have another interesting feature - this is the fact that most of them prefer to bear their offspring in bags. A kangaroo calf is born the size of a walnut and immediately catches the mother's fur into the bag on her stomach. He lives for several months in a bag where he feeds on mother's milk. Even when he grows up and starts moving independently, in case of danger, he still hides in his mother's bag.

A cute animal is a marsupial bear of a koala. It looks more like a toy teddy bear up to 80 centimeters in size. Previously, sailors tried to bring such a bear to their homeland, but these lovely animals died of hunger, as they feed on leaves of trees that grow only in Australia. On the continent, there are 125 species of marsupials, the local flora provides full nutrition to kangaroos and all other species of marsupials. The largest animals of Australia are distributed in the east in mountain forests and in the north of the continent in tropical forests.

Termites live in the north, which mostly feed on plants. They are very fond of eating wood, while destroying telegraph poles and walls of wooden houses. Here in the north there are lizards, which you can take for real land crocodiles. Predatory lizards up to 2.5 meters in length feed on frogs, fish, turtles, rodents and birds. In the deserts of central Australia, there are marsupial jerboas, marsupials, marsupials and mice, as well as large red kangaroos. Still here lives an unusual lizard moloch, all covered with large sharp spines. This lizard is able to absorb water with the entire surface of the skin and is very swollen in the rain.

Other interesting animals in Australia are the placid lizards. They can quickly run on two legs and this becomes like a small dinosaur. At the moment of danger, they frighten the enemy by blowing a big cape around their head. A lot of beautiful and interesting birds are spread on the continent. First of all, it's wavy parrots and a scared parrot cucumber. Almost all the parks in European capitals were decorated with black swans. In the world zoos live bright crowned pigeons. In the east of Australia there live birds, lyrebirds. National parks are created here to protect the amazing beauty of the continent. The most significant of them is the Great Victoria Desert, located in the central desert and 50 kilometers from Canberra Kosciusko National Park.
