Ring motorsport in Russia is becoming more interesting, massive and attractive for pilots and sponsors. He had excellent prospects for development thanks to the cooperation of SMP Racing and the Russian Automobile Federation. History and description

In recent years, a lot of new highway-ring racing has opened in the country. One of them is the Smolensk Ring. Construction of the race track began in 2008. Hermann Tilke worked on her project. Famous German architect, the creator of almost all the new racing tracks of the famous Formula 1 championship, making maximum use of local terrain features, created a high-level track. Its technical characteristics comply with all requirements of the FIA and the I category according to RAF classification.

Autodrome "Smolensk Ring" refers to racing routes of international level. It is designed to organize ring racing of all classes, with the exception of Formula-1.

The circuit is 3362 kilometers long, the width of the canvas is 13-15 meters. One of its key characteristics is the number of turns. They make the race quite spectacular. For DTM vehicles, the maximum speed is 241 km / h. At the same time, 30/32 Formula cars or sports prototypes can compete on the circuit.

The race track satisfies all safety requirements and allows you to carry out automobile competitions at the world level. There are special fences, a repair box, a maintenance zone, the start-finish and pit-lane zones are divided.

A tight schedule

Of the serious competitions held at the "Smolensk Ring", it is worth noting the stage of the European championship in tracing and the first stage of the body racing series in Russia. The circuit regularly hosts competitions of both national scale and CIS championships.

First step Ring competitions In the framework of the RSKG in the spring of 2014 it was at the "Smolenskoye Koltso" motor-racing track. The schedule of races this year is quite dense. In addition to the Russian championship, in May the Championship of the Republic of Belarus on automobile ring races was held.

Planned activities

During the year there are still many spectacular events on the circuit:

  • August 23-24 - the Formula-Russia Championship in conjunction with the RSKG;
  • September 13-14 - stages of amateur championships RHHCC;
  • October 4-5 - a series of races Porsche Cup;
  • October 11-12 - RHHCC and the Championship of the Republic of Belarus on ring motor racing.

Within the amateur championships RHHCC will be played the Slavic Cup. It is planned to hold the stage of the amateur all-Russian racing series Max Power Cars. Also on the circuit for the first time will be the masters of the so-called driven ride from RDS.

It is worth noting that this year the entrance for spectators to the stages of the RSCF is free.

"Smolensk Ring" takes private and club events. It is often held a track-day for everyone who wants to feel an independent drive on the race track. During free races, any driver on a private car can use one or more sessions.

The Smolensk Ring continues its development. In 2015, it is planned to return the circuit to the calendar of the European Championship in trailing-racing, as race in trucks will attract a lot of fans.
