Anapa Airport - an alternate site for the Olympic Games in Sochi?

Anapa Airport "Vitiazevo" is located 15 km from the central part of the city and at a distance of about 5 km from the railway station. It is considered an international airport of federal significance. The largest air hub of the south of the state, one of the twenty most important airports in the Russian Federation. During the summer holiday, a bus route runs connecting the airport, Anapa and Gelendzhik. Due to the heavy traffic of the airport during the summer season it is recommended to take tickets at once in both directions.

Reconstruction of the airport, currently under way, is timed to coincide with the Winter Olympic Games. "Vityazevo" can be used as a spare airport for guests of such a large-scale event.
