Allah - the day of the angel according to the church calendar

In the first centuries after the coming of Jesus Christ, most Christians were ready at any moment to lay their heads for believing in Him. Today, there are few self-sacrificing and truly believers, as modern people are mainly engaged in vain life and the acquisition of worldly goods. Holy Alla of Gotha became one of the brightest examples of courage and fortitude, not betraying Christ and not broken before the enemies-pagans. However, in order to get closer to the theme: "Allah is an angel's day," we will plunge a bit into the history of those cruel times and feel for what great feat the early Christians were walking.

Ancient Gothia

All events took place in Goths about the 4th century. There was a time when this country maintained a stable relationship with the Roman Empire, and therefore for Christians there were no prohibitions on beliefs and worship. They quietly engaged in missionary work, built temples and monastery monasteries, but then all state power passed into the hands of Atanariha (according to another version - Ungerich), which immediately hated the Christians, because he was an inveterate pagan. He declared a real hunt for them: true believers of faith were caught and massacred. There were orders and death sentences of this ruthless tyrant throughout the country. With his fervent speeches, he sowed in the hearts of the Gentiles a terrible hatred for believers in Christ.

Worship or death

Before answering the question, when the name day of Alla, we will get acquainted with important information.

Closer to 375, it was already very dangerous for Christians to attend church services in the church, and now they mostly prayed secretly, in their own homes. Once the bravest Christians in the number of 308 people decided not to hide and come to the Sunday service in the temple. At the beginning of the service all the people gave themselves to deep prayer to God so that he sent hope for peace to all Christian believers. Suddenly a troop of pagan soldiers approached the church and drove a statue to the wagon. The wild voice of the leader of the soldiers cried out, so that everyone left the church, bowed to the god Votan and offered a sacrifice. However, all the people in the church did not even stir, then the doors slammed shut, everything was on fire and began to crumble. Nobody heard any moans or cries, the church buried under its burned fragments of the body of 308 Christian martyrs. It is these woeful events that lead us to the theme "Allah: the day of the angel."

Holy Allah

Saint Alla, who was the widow of the Gothian king Grazian (375-383), together with her daughter Duclida, after all the tragic events, came to the burnt church to collect and peacefully bury the remains of the martyrs. Then a part of them, Holy Alla, was transported to Syria. When she returned home, they were brutally beaten up with her son Agafon to death.

After a while, the holy daughter of Duclida transported the remains to Kizik (the city of Asia Minor) to illuminate the new temples. Great relics were laid in the foundations of the thrones and became a place of prayer and worship. Duclide after the death of her mother lived a few more years and peacefully died.

Another version

There is another version of the martyr's death of St. Alla of Gotha, where it is stated that instead of Alla was the widow of Haat, and St. Alla herself was burned in the church together with 308 martyrs.

However, the details no longer play a role - it's been almost two thousand years. It is amazing and admirable how strong the faith in Christ was both holy Alla and other martyrs because, for her sake, they went to certain death. Without a true and firm faith in the Holy Spirit, this would be impossible.

Alla: the day of the angel

Of the 308 martyrs, 26 were known by name. The name of Saint Alla is included in the list of 26 martyrs of Gothic. Day of the angel Alla in the church calendar, the Orthodox Church celebrates March 26 (April 8).

St. Alle pray that children will be brought up in Christian piety. She became the patroness of social services, who care for the seriously ill in hospices and hospitals. According to legend, not only Christians are worshiped by Saint Alla. The day of the angel of this selfless woman is celebrated also by the Crimeans - she is considered to be their intercessor.
