All Dostoevsky's works: list. Bibliography of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky

All Dostoevsky's works, the list of which is the subject of this review, have become a classic not only of Russian but also of world literature. This article will indicate the most famous works of the author. The largest books of the writer are studied at school. Many of his compositions were screened many times and were staged on the stage, which speaks of their enduring value and relevance.

The first novel

All the works of Dostoevsky (the list will begin with a mention of the book that made him famous in literary circles) demonstrate the author's versatile talent. It's about the novel "Poor People", created in 1846. This book is interesting in that it is written in the epistolary genre. The protagonist, Makar Devushkin, corresponds with a girl who is in love with him, but does not dare to confess her feelings to her, because she is older. In addition, he believes that it is not worthy of her, although she reciprocates with him.

With the help of this form of narration, Fyodor Dostoyevsky was able to convey the feelings of his heroes in great detail and reliably. "Poor people" is a novel that was highly appraised by the famous critic V. Belinsky.

He opened the young writer the way to the literary world and made his name known to the mass reader.

Humorous story

The author did not want to dwell on the genre of drama and tried himself in a variety of styles. He wrote not only prose, but also composed poems. In addition, after the release of the first novel, he decided to create a comic work in the form of a correspondence between the characters. Thus, the novel "A novel in nine letters" appeared - a humorous story that was published in 1847 in the journal Sovremennik. This work is a correspondence of two sharers, each of which tries to deceive a partner.

The writer imitated Gogol, selecting both similar names and giving each characteristic features. One of them is delicate and polite, the second one, on the contrary, is rude and straightforward. But in the end both were deceived by their mutual acquaintance. All of Dostoevsky's works, the list of which includes not only dramatic and tragic, but also humorous works, shows him as a subtle observer and an outstanding thinker.

"Insulted and Injured"

This was the first major work written by the author after returning from exile. It was published in 1861. Criticism met him very restrained, except the magazine "Contemporary", which positively assessed the plot and the characters. The narration is conducted on behalf of the first person - the young writer Ivan, in which the autobiographical features of the author are guessed.

Dostoevsky's novel "The Insulted and the Injured" has two plot lines, which makes the narrative somewhat blurred. Nevertheless, even in this book, the features of the writer's style are clearly visible: a deep psychological analysis of the characters, sympathy for all disadvantaged people is a topic that runs through the writer's entire work.

"Player"

A profound analysis of the psychology of man and his actions distinguishes all of Dostoevsky's works. The author's list of books must be supplemented with the above-mentioned autobiographical novel.

This is one of the most difficult novels in the writer's work, as reflected his addiction to the game, as well as a difficult relationship with his beloved, who served as the prototype of the main character of the novel, as well as the famous Nastasya Filippovna in the book "Idiot." In the center of the narrative is a person who is obsessed with a passion for a beloved woman, and also to a game of chance.

Works of the 1860s-1870s

The bibliography of Fyodor Dostoevsky includes a large number of works of various genres, but the most popular books are those created in the decade.

In 1866 he wrote the novel "Crime and Punishment", which became a classic of the genre and one of the best works of the author. The study of this work is part of the school curriculum, in addition, it has been repeatedly screened.

In the next three years he composed one of the most interesting and dynamic works - the novel "Idiot", which is considered the most romantic of his book, despite the tragic denouement.

In the 1870s, the light saw one of his most difficult works - The Brothers Karamazov. This book is distinguished by a deep philosophical plot, a complex history and many-sided characters. The author set out to show the complex moral state of society in the context of the spread of revolutionary ideas and nihilism, as well as the destruction of traditional values and customs.

Stories and Diary

The author worked not only in the genre of large prose, but also wrote small works. One of the most famous of his novels is the philosophical book "The Double." It tells the story of a petty servant who was very clumsy, indecisive, distracted. Once he had a double, who quickly managed to take his place thanks to dexterity, agility, cunning and meanness. The work denounces human weakness and servility, which led to the fact that society adopted a double instead of a person they know. In this series, you can also mention the humorous story "Another's wife and husband under the bed." This work is imbued with a good kind humor, which is so characteristic of the pen of the writer.

Separately, we should mention his diary, in which he not only talks about his creative path, but also sets out his thoughts on Russia's social and political development, and also expresses his opinion on the international situation of the country. The diary reveals the author from the inside, since in it he shares the secrets of his skill and techniques, explains the thoughts and ideas that he conducted in artistic prose. The diary was published from 1873 to 1881, which proves the interest of the author and readers to this work.

Poetry

Dostoevsky's verses demonstrate his talent not only as a writer of prose, but also as a poet. One of his first lyrical works "At the European Events of 1854" is devoted to the time of the Crimean War. In it the author expresses his opinion on the history of Russia and its mission in the liberation of Orthodox peoples. He argues that, in spite of the European threat, the country will still endure any trials, as before for many centuries.

Dostoevsky's poems, in general, reflect his socio-political views. In the work "On the first of July, 1855" he again discusses the future of Russia, expresses the hope for its revival, and also asks the tsar to forgive him and his supporters for former opposition passions. The composition is dedicated to the birthday of the empress and is distinguished by a patriotic spirit and philosophical content.

He also wrote a poem "On the coronation and the conclusion of peace," in which he glorifies the onset of peace and the coronation of the new Emperor Alexander II. Among the writer's lyrics, one can also note his epigram on the Bavarian colonel, and also the work "Struggle of Nihilism with Honesty." The latter work is interesting because in it the author expresses his socio-political views on this new movement in Russia. It is also necessary to indicate the collection of poems "My notebook of convicts" - a collection of folklore material, which he collected during his exile.
