Acrobatic dance - a combination of contrasts

There are few people in the world who could not be impressed with acrobatic stunts: fragile acrobats hovering in the air, extraordinary flexibility and plasticity of athletes, clear execution of the program. Similarly, a lot of amateurs have gathered around the world in classical dance . And now imagine how great the combination of the first and second! Acrobatic dance, or Acro dance is a classic style, but with the addition of acrobatic inserts. This determines its sporting focus, a kind of choreography combining two different types of plastic art, in its dance performance. For today, the style is known among amateurs, and among professional dancers. For example, this is one of the leading genres in the famous Cirque du Soleil. Acrobatic dance is sometimes abbreviated to the word "acro".

Acrobatic dance: features

Sporting acrobatic dances, however, are not easy, because the performer must be able to dance and perform tricks. Required impeccable physical form of the performer, because the loads during the dance are serious enough. Despite the popularity of the acrobat, not many specialized schools teach him because of lack of funding or lack of knowledge for acrobatic training of his students.

Akro, I must say, settled even in distant South Africa fifty years ago, and to this day it is taught there, and the dancers participate in various competitions. 9 years ago this direction was registered as a sport discipline, it is still the official discipline of the South African Gymnastics Federation. Acrobatic dance Russian championship also did not pass.

Children's acrobatic dance

Acrobatic dance for children teaches the children muscle control, flexibility, ability to keep balance, and most importantly - discipline and concentration. All these qualities are needed by any child, and that he will always be in excellent shape - this is not to be doubted at all. From the presence of a sports element, young artists do not find acro boring, attracting them and bright stories and images. It also tempts the moment that this style is not a dance of "puppets". Good teachers always give athletes freedom of expression. And in the dance there should not be any rules limiting the movement. Sometimes, to adapt the room to a specific performer, add movements from modern dance, jazz, tap dance, ballet.

The history of acrobatic dance

There was this dance direction in the beginning of the last century in Canada and the USA. It was one of the vaudeville productions. Note that in the last decades of the nineteenth century individual classical dance and acrobatics took place in speeches, but at that time they were not so popular and did not represent a well-coordinated synthesis. There is no definite author of this trend in history. The dance appeared in vaudeville little by little and in a variety of forms, so the founder of acro is no longer to be determined.

The decline of the popularity of vaudeville became the starting point for the evolution of the actor. One of the important moments of transforming the direction into what we have the opportunity to observe today is the inclusion in the dance program of ballet technique as a basis for unusual pas. As a result of this, the honored movements of the dancer became more vaudeville than the vaudeville could not boast. The downside to acro in vaudeville was that he was just performing tricks with musical accompaniment, and modern performances are first and foremost a dance that includes acrobatic movements.

Composition of acrobatic dance

At the heart of the composition of this direction is a figurative combination of arbitrary combinations. Such a figurative and etude style requires the performer not only good technical training, but also the availability of artistic and expressive skills. In addition, acrobatic dance implies a very careful selection of music for the performance, great attention to its content, the preparation of an individual story, the search for a variety of means of expressiveness. Music for acrobatic dance is used the most diverse. It is also necessary to thoroughly master and study the trick movements and ligaments, and to all other performers should be able to create and implement artistic, emotional and plastic images.

Means of expressiveness of dance

The leading means of expressiveness acro - is, first of all, the harmonious positions and movements of athletes. No less important is the facial expression, the ability to feel the tempo, the rhythm, the dynamics of movement, to keep in mind the spatial drawing of the dance and its composition, the plastic expressiveness of the performer.

Dancers are not forbidden to use elements from other dance directions - jazz, folk or classical dance, modernity and others, one condition that these movements should not dominate the basic nature of the dance. The costume of the artist must correspond to the imaginative style of the performance.

Forbidden!

There are not many prohibitions in this direction. Veto is imposed on the inclusion in the composition of elements from the following disciplines: acrobatic rock'n'roll and sports aerobics. This is due to the fact that these dances have their own bright style of performance and this contradicts the concept of acrobatic dance itself. However, as it was written above, elements of other disciplines included in the number are not prohibited.

Also under the ban use by the athletes themselves or the presence on the dance floor of any additional props.
