Acoustics for computer, or Problem of choice

A modern computer can not be imagined without a sound card. If previous generations of computers were bypassed by the output of a sound stream to a system speaker, better known as a speaker, a self-made Covox solution or expensive Sound Blaster cards, now the user only needs acoustics for the computer, and the sound adapter is part of the motherboard. It's about built-in HD Audio and AC97 models (an outdated, but still meeting solution). Computers stores offer a huge assortment of columns and amplifiers, including multi-channel models. However, with all this, the choice of acoustics for a computer for many is quite a challenge.

Of course, there is nothing easier than to buy inexpensive plastic speakers in a kiosk on the street, however, they are not suitable for listening to anything other than the system "beep". Most users understand that good acoustics for a computer can hardly cost cheap. Usually hundreds of dollars are requested for Hi-Fi systems. That's why it is important to understand what kind of acoustics is for a computer, how to find a compromise option, which has a good sound and acceptable cost.

Tasks

Before you buy a sound system, you need to define the range of tasks in which the acoustics for the computer will be used. So, in order to decorate the workplace and the ability to hear system messages, simple plastic speakers will do. Manufacturers offer different models with different appearance: from classic, executed "under the tree", to the futuristic. But if you plan to listen to music, watch movies or play games, then the design does not come to the forefront, but other characteristics.

It is worth remembering that the most expensive acoustics for a computer uses tube amplifiers. Those that were rejected many years ago in favor of semiconductor elements. Obviously, the appearance of such a design is for an amateur, but the sound quality is excellent, since the noise level is minimal.

Choosing Acoustics

If the columns are selected not only for decoration, you should determine the desired number of channels. This parameter depends on the characteristics of the sound card. So, the system can be stereo, quad-band and multichannel. The latter are more expensive, so sometimes it is more reasonable to purchase a good stereo system than a bad "multi-channel".

The next important thing is the presence of a subwoofer. This is a special speaker with a speaker capable of reproducing low frequencies. In multi-channel solutions, it is usually present. Also there are modifications "stereo + subwoofer". The sound picture is better, but for the device will need an extra seat on the floor for placement.

The dimensions of the speakers play an important role in the sound quality. Obviously, with a small size of the diffuser, it is impossible to achieve powerful oscillations, whatever is said in the advertisement. Thus, wanting to listen to music in the room, you need to choose more speakers.

One of the most important moments, which, alas, is overlooked by many buyers, is the case material. It is worth remembering that wooden models sound much better than plastic ones. It makes sense to buy simple wooden columns, than a set of plastic "pishchalkov."

The number of speakers affects the saturation of the sound picture. The optimal compromise option is a column with two diffusers and a subwoofer.

The last thing you should pay attention to is the manufacturer. It's not a secret for anyone that you often pay for a "name". Sometimes little-known decisions sound better than equal eminent ones in value. The most popular brands to date are the following: F & D, JBL, Bose, Sven.
