Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov: biography and photos

One of the best fighters of mixed style in lightweight is the magnificent Khabib Nurmagomedov, who wins in all his fights. However, the main creator of his exploits should be called after all his father and coach - Abulmanap Nurmagomedov. Master of sports in freestyle wrestling, champion of major competitions in sambo and judo, he grew up in an authoritative coach who brought up a whole galaxy of excellent fighters, including his son.

Sports career

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov (born in Avarez) was born in Dagestan in 1962. The number one sport in the republic, of course, was a free-style wrestling, which the future coach was successfully engaged in. Working hard in gyms, he achieved the title of Master of Sports. When the time came, he went to serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces, where he became interested in judo and sambo.

Having gained experience of several types of martial arts, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, whose biography in sports was just beginning, mastered the technique of painful and suffocating techniques from different angles, sides, points, which helped him in his future coaching activities. After the army, the Daghestanian remained in Ukraine, where he successfully continued playing sports. Over the years of his active career, he became the champion of the republic in judo and sambo.

At the same time, Nurmagomedov learns the basics of coaching, studying under the guidance of the best domestic specialists. In different years, his mentors were Honored Master of Sports Peter Ivanovich Butriy, Olympic champion 1976 Nevzorov. A stubborn and persistent fighter like a sponge absorbed the fundamentals and techniques of training athletes.

Beginning of the coaching path

Since Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov by nationality was an Avar, he could not imagine life far from his native Dagestan. Soon he returned to his homeland and deployed his coaching activities here, not being frightened by the difficult conditions of the North Caucasus in the early nineties.

However, even in Ukraine, he managed to grow a great athlete. The first experience of the young specialist was his younger brother Nurmagomed, from which he made the world champion in sports sambo.

Further, Abdulmanap Magomedovich Nurmagomedov trained only at home. Specialist in various types of martial arts, he successfully worked in different directions. He started with the preparation of a whole group of wrestlers. Nurmagomedov brought up a number of champions of Russia and Dagestan in freestyle wrestling, among them were Magomedkhan Kaziev, Khadzhimurat Mutalimov, Hasan Magomedov.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov: children

In the life of Dagestan, as well as other coaches, the most important place is occupied by the sports career of his pupils. The brightest diamond in the rich collection of the Dagestani coach, of course, is his son Habib, one of the best fighters of the MMA of modern times.

The children of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov spent all their free time in the gymnasiums together with their father's pupils, having barely learned to walk. By the way, Habib and his older brother Magomed did their first steps on wrestling mats. Guys should not have been forced to engage in, since two years they have been performing somersaults, running, general physical exercises, repeating them for older pupils.

Breakthrough Habib

Initially, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov assessed Magomed's chances higher than Habib. He was faster, smarter, more tactful. Already at 16, the elder brother was a member of the Dagestan national team in freestyle wrestling. However, Habib strenuously eliminated the backlog by persistent training and hard work on himself. He literally required his father to join the team, participate in the training camps. For a year Habib worked on 15 gatherings, having done a titanic work, after which his results went up. Already by the age of 16 he was among the best in the country for sambo and hand-to-hand fighting, after which his rich opportunities became evident.

Nurmagomedov Jr.'s conclusion to a high level

Habib Nurmagomedov decided not to limit himself to classical martial arts and try his hand at mixed martial arts. Wrestling training, painful and suffocating receptions from Sambo and judo - all this was provided to him by his father. However, pragmatic Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov understood the need to deliver his son a shock training.

Especially for the sake of this was organized a whole course of boxing training in Poltava. The athlete was trained by an authoritative mentor who still trained Soviet boxers for the Olympics in Seoul in 1988.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov immediately took the bull by the horns and directly asked the boxing specialist to deliver his son a blow that would be guaranteed to knock down rivals. So in the arsenal of Habib there was a murderous uppercut, which during the battle he often performed with a pounce, which gave him even more strength. This and other techniques, sharpened specially for Nurmagomedov, allowed him to compete on an equal footing in the octagon with the strongest UFC drummers.

Manapov School

Working for a long time in Dagestan, Abdulmanap Magomedovich earned a tremendous reputation during this time. Of course, there was formed a whole Manapov school of training fighters of mixed style. Habib himself was engaged with the guys older than him for 5-7 years, who subsequently showed themselves vividly in the battles of a mixed style.

Among them, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov himself notes Shamil Zavurov, Magomed Magomedov, Dzhabrail Dzhabrailov. Each of them Habib borrowed something for himself, enriching his fighters arsenal. For example, in Magomed "Zhelezki" it was a knee blow to the head, by which he switched off many rivals.

Zavurov and Dzhabrailov also worked a lot with the younger comrade and together put him an unconventional lateral passage to his feet.

However, recently Habib Nurmagomedov, continuing to train with his father, before the fights leaves to prepare in the US, where different principles of struggle are put in another way. Feature fighting mixed style is just the fight in the stalls, working in a limited space near the cage, a constant struggle for initiative and position.

In turn, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov does not hesitate to use the advances of his American rivals-colleagues, recognizing the inadequacy of the classical training of wrestlers and judokas for combats of mixed style.

Tactics and strategy of the master

The mountain base of training Dagestani fighters of an experienced mentor has long gained prestige all over the world. Many foreign athletes already express their desire to join Nurmagomedov's group. Dilute air, high altitude conditions help the body to reveal hidden opportunities and open new reserves.

Despite his considerable age and experience, Abdulmanap Magomedovich never considers it shameful to borrow someone else's more successful experience.

For general physical training, he uses the old proven methods of the Soviet school, developed in cooperation with doctors and professors. He also makes boxing training with the help of his assistants, based on the old school. At the same time he recognizes the advantage of transatlantic masters in the struggle in the stalls, their wider range of techniques in control on the carpet and the grid. Proceeding from this, he first of all puts his pupils in the struggle in the stalls, building further training from this.

Unsuccessful fight with Ferguson

One of the most significant events in the world of mixed martial arts in 2017 was to be the title fight for the title of interim world champion in lightweight. For the belt, Tony Ferguson and Habib Nurmagomedov argued. This fight has already been canceled twice, once due to Ferguson's injury, the other due to Habib's fault.

Preparation of the Dagestan for battle was complicated by the fact that his father and mentor could not attend with him because of problems with an entry visa to the United States. Habib was not the first time to have problems with weight, he always had to force a dump of extra pounds to fit within a light weight. Usually this process was controlled by Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, however, because of his absence, his son was out of control. Shortly before the battle the Daghestanian felt a sharp pain in the baking and was hospitalized.

Now Abdulmanap Magomedovich continues to work with his students, among which he singles out Islam Makhachev and Albert Tumenov.
