A few words about which heating battery is better

Usually people do not really think about what the heating batteries are in the apartment. Time to think about them comes or when they have served their own already so much that they start hopelessly flowing, or when the owners decide: the overhaul should be capital. Clearly, I want to change the good for the best.

But how many people - so many opinions. And the opinion is all the more from the truth, the more a person is interested in selling you his own heating device. And now in my head a uniform porridge, and standing in a row a variety of heating batteries (which is better, what are worse?) Do not cause any emotions, except perplexity. However, the problem still needs to be solved in one way or another.

First, we will screen out unscrupulous sellers, programmed only to in any way give the customer their own goods. From them, information about which battery is better, certainly not wait. To sift is very simple. Such traders will never ask, in any house you live, nor what kind of batteries you have now. And this is not idle curiosity.

If there is central heating in your house, and you are hard pressed by radiators from steel plates, - chase such a "seller" in three necks! A person with little knowledge of the subject is well aware of the water hammering that is so characteristic of our heating systems, as well as the fact that steel hammers simply do not hold these plates.

"Resign" will have to send and the construction of steel pipes. The thing is, of course, beautiful, designer, but ... oh, if we had a coolant normal! Already, these pipes have thin walls. Do not be their long-livers in our apartments.

So, in the semifinals of the competition, which heating battery is better, go out veterans, "cast iron", light aluminum radiators, their bimetallic relatives, as well as convectors.

Oh, and heavy veterans - up to 8 kg weigh! But they have reliability as a Kalashnikov assault rifle. Account for an impeccable service life is not for years, for decades - can without replacement and half a century stand. Are able literally to take the heat away from the hot enough coolant (+50 ... + 55) and give it generously to people. Cool off - thanks a lot - slowly.

A cast-iron battery heats the air with thermal radiation, and convectors - by the movement of warm air from below upwards between their plates. The higher the airflow rises, the stronger the plates heat it. But for this they must be heated by the coolant themselves to a temperature of at least +70.

If the cast-iron batteries are flaunting in heavyweights, then the aluminum radiator is the easiest weight category. Combining infrared radiation and convection, it achieves the greatest thermal comfort in a heated room. And low thermal inertia of aluminum allows to use automatics for temperature regulation. The temperature of the coolant is not below +60. So, if you have installed convectors, do not hesitate for a long time what kind of heating battery is better - choose aluminum: all the prerequisites for their effective operation are present.

Turned to the bimetallic radiators-handsome. Outwardly they look really nice, besides this, they combine high heat output with a low weight and great strength. In comparison with aluminum relatives, the demand for bimetal radiators to coolant quality is much lower, they last longer. Therefore, the owners of cast-iron batteries, too, do not have to think hard about which heating battery is better - the choice is obvious.
