The meaning of Tarot cards in divination: fire, water and ... peasants!

The significance of cards, fortune telling, is something that has always interested people prone to mysticism. In the 1960s, the West discovered the Tarot cards. Especially they became popular among the hippies, who are fascinated by the secret sciences. The meaning of Tarot cards in divination, which then became fashionable, became for these young people a constant "key" in the knowledge of the spiritual values of ancient peoples.

Today it is a deck containing 78 cards. The images on them are rotated in one particular direction. That is why the "inverted" or "direct" position, and therefore the very meaning of the Tarot cards in divination - these are different things with different interpretations.

"Elder"

This rule is very clearly observed on those 22 cards that make up the so-called "trump card". Another of their name is the senior arcane. In Latin, "arkan" means "mystery."

In ancient times, people believed that it was these 22 cards that are very powerful. Images on them differed by a complex symbolism. According to fortune tellers, this trick of the arcana reveals the secret secrets of the fate of all mankind.

The meaning of tarot cards for fortune-telling remained for a long time the key in any life situation. The variety of combinations of cards with this or that scenario gave the ground for irrepressible imagination. Coupled with intuition, imagination led to surprising results.

Fortunetellers analyzed the past, foresaw the future, and at times even designed models of the future situations of their clients.

"Little e"

The remaining 56 cards of the total Tarot deck are divided into several suits - coins, maces, swords and goblets. (They were the progenitors of modern maps: maces turned into clubs, swords into pikes, coins into tambourines, and cups into worms.)

Four suits Tarot together constitute the "minor trumpet". In each of these suits, there are cards with values from 1 to 10, as well as four maps with pictures indicating gradation (increase): first a messenger, then a rider, then a Sibyl and a pharaoh. (Here, too, there is a parallel with the modern deck: a messenger with a rider became a jack, a sibyl was a lady, and a pharaoh a king).

Older and lower arkans - the general value of Tarot cards in fortune-telling

At one time, the fortune-telling happened with simultaneous use of both older and younger arches. However, later there was a fundamental separation of these lasso. The elder turned out to be in the hands of professional fortunetellers, and the younger one began to gain popularity among noble persons.

The meaning of the Tarot cards in divination is always different and depends on many nuances: how to arrange these or other cards, in which direction they "look" and so on. It is interesting that some historians attached their own importance to Tarot. In their opinion, these maps reflected the model of the organization of the states of Ancient Egypt and India. Since the society of these countries was strictly divided into castes, the four suits of the Tarot also represent different social strata:

  • Peasants and artisans;
  • Traders and financiers;
  • Knights;
  • Nobles;
  • Priests.

Meanwhile, the ancients themselves interpreted the colors of these cards as four elements: the goblet is water, the sword is lightning, the mace is the flame (fire), and the coin is the earth.

Today the value of playing cards in guessing, of course, is not so large and fateful. Nevertheless, many believe in the unique abilities of pictures originating in antiquity.
