The drug 'Divigel'. Instructions

The "Divigel" preparation is a transdermal gel based on alcohol, containing a synthetic analogue of natural estradiol with a similar biological activity (estradiol). The mechanism of action of the drug is similar to that possessed by oral estrogen-containing drugs. Often used medicine "Divigel" to build up the endometrium.

The drug compensates for the lack of estrogen, reducing the severity of disorders associated with ovariectomy and menopause.

Consistent use of the drug "Divigel" and progestogen in most women causes regular menstrual bleeding, the duration of which on average five to six days. Begin bleeding, usually within a week from the last intake of progestogen. Minor discharge is noted in 4-5% of patients. In the first year of therapy, amenorrhea was observed in 3-5% of women.

When transdermal (on the skin) application of estradiol in combination with medroxyprogesterone acetate, a decrease in the total cholesterol index is observed.

After application to the skin, alcohol evaporates. Estradiol is absorbed quickly enough and enters the systemic circulation. The use of the medicine "Divigel" in the area from 400 to 200 square meters. Cm (equal to the area of two or one palm) does not affect the amount of the active component penetrated into the bloodstream. However, when applied to larger areas, the degree of absorption can vary.

Estradiol in a certain amount accumulates in fatty subcutaneous fat, from which it gradually enters the bloodstream. Transdermal application allows to avoid the systemic decay of the preparation "Divigel", the first passage through the liver. In this regard, fluctuations in the level of estradiol in the plasma are less pronounced when using the drug compared to oral medications.

The tool "Divigel" recommends the instruction for the treatment of climacteric syndrome, which is due to ovariectomy or menopause, and also to alleviate conditions caused by a lack of estrogens. In addition, the drug is indicated as a prevention of primary osteoporosis.

The dosage for the "Divigel" medication is recommended to be set individually. As a rule, appoint 0.5-1.5 milligrams per day. The dosage can be adjusted by the doctor. The therapeutic course can be continuous or cyclic.

In the intact uterus, the treatment with the "Divigel" preparation recommends the use of cycles with the simultaneous administration of progestins for ten to twelve days in each cycle (to prevent hyperplastic processes in the endometrium). At the end of the course, menstrual bleeding should occur.

When there is prolonged or prolonged uterine bleeding, it is necessary to identify their cause. The duration of the cycle in the postmenopausal period in patients can be up to three months.

Dosage of the medicine "Divigel" instruction recommends rubbing into the lower abdomen or applying to the area of the buttocks with an area of one or two palms alternating between the left and the right side. After application, the drug should be allowed to soak for several minutes.

The drug "Divigel" is contraindicated in case of transferred, putative or established cancer in the mammary gland, estrogen-dependent tumor (endometrial cancer, for example), vaginal bleeding of an unknown nature. Do not prescribe medication for untreated hyperplasia of the uterine mucosa, suffered thromboembolism in the pulmonary artery or thrombosis in the deep veins, myocardial infarction over the past two years, recurrent thromboembolism. Contra-indications include chronic or acute liver pathologies, hypersensitivity, lactation period. The drug "Divigel" during pregnancy is also not prescribed.
