In the mountains, the largest rivers originate, including the Rhine, the Danube and Po. The Rhine Falls impresses with its beauty and power - in one second it consumes 1100 cubic meters of water. The real natural pearl of Switzerland are the lakes - Bodensee, Geneva, Lake Four Kant and others.

Three kilometers from the city of Montreux on the shores of Lake Geneva is the beautifully preserved Chillon Castle in Switzerland - the country's visiting card. This medieval fortress of the 13th century, celebrated by Byron in his famous poem "Prisoner of the Chillon Castle", is visited annually by thousands of tourists. Byron dedicated his poem to the fighter for independence of Geneva - Bonivar, who for four years languished in the dungeons of the castle, chained to the fifth column. The famous poet, visiting the Schiel castle in Switzerland, left an inscription on the third column, which is now shown to all tourists.

The architectural style of the castle can be attributed to the Romance and early Gothic. All the dungeons and towers are carefully restored and available for inspection. In the castle you can see a rich collection of ancient weapons, ancient pewter dishes, as well as interior items and artifacts found during excavations.

In the canton of Ticino is a stunningly beautiful city, famous for its parks and an abundance of flowers. Here is the famous Cathedral of San Lorenzo. This majestic and grandiose Catholic church still serves as an excellent example of the cultural influence of neighboring Italy.
