Sliding Pipe Support

It is difficult to imagine modern industrial production without the use of pipelines. For their installation, an element such as a sliding support is widely used. This is one of the most important components of the backbone systems, ensuring their full and continuous use.

Support for pipelines

Supports for any piping systems must be reliable and of good quality. They serve to improve the operation of the system and guarantee the preservation of its integrity.

There are two types of supports: mobile and fixed. The first, in turn, depending on the requirements of the pipeline design, can be:

  • Sliding;
  • Slippery;
  • Suspended;
  • Roller;
  • Spring.

Their application is determined by the design features of the pipeline itself and depends on the following indicators:

  • The designation of pipes (for which the main line is used);
  • The place of their installation (underground, external, wall, shaft);
  • Spatial orientation (horizontal, vertical);
  • Length of the system;
  • Number of bends and turns.

Sliding support

Such a support is a specific device that allows the pipe to have some mobility. Any material is heated when heated. With a rigidly fixed attachment, this leads to deformation of the pipes and their damage. The most vulnerable are the joints.

The main task that the sliding support performs is the prevention of excessive loads on the pipeline.

The pressure inside the pipes creates some vibration. The longer the pipeline, the greater the deflection angle. We should not exclude external unfavorable weather conditions, especially strong winds or earthquakes.

Types of sliding supports

When making sliding supports use steel. The main types include the following:

  • Support slip clamp, which allows the pipes to move in a certain direction;
  • Ball - for axial or lateral displacement of pipes;
  • Dielectric, which serves to protect against electricity;
  • Roller, which makes it possible to move the pipes along the axis (with temperature fluctuations);
  • Support on the metal brackets, which provides the displacement of the pipe in a particular direction.

Regardless of the type, all sliding supports serve to protect pipelines from mechanical damage.

Construction of sliding support

The simplest design can be represented as a combination of a rigid base and fasteners with gaskets. Regardless of the type, any sliding support for pipes consists of the following elements:

  • The base, which can be made of a channel, wide corner;
  • A paronit cushion for protection from electricity;
  • Mounting structure;
  • Clamp;
  • Connecting parts - bolts, nuts, washers.

Installation of supports requires a careful determination of the distance between them. It depends on what exactly will be transported along the highway. Even the water temperature is important. For a system with hot water, the estimated distance between supports is allowed more than for systems with a cold one.

There are more nuances in the application of isolation. To prevent damage to it during friction of the support and pipe parts, use graphite grease. A seamless waterproofing material is used for the metal case . Work on the welding of screeds and yokes is carried out only after the final installation of the sliding support.

Benefits

The sliding supports have a number of features:

  • Simplicity of installation;
  • Long service life;
  • Reliability and durability;
  • A large selection of sizes, which makes it easy to choose a support for each specific case.

Sliding supports help keep the trunk pipelines intact . This is due to compensation of thermal expansions, vertical and lateral loads, smoothing of torque and leveling of other physical influences (vibration, shaking). As a result, colossal savings in finance are provided for repair work.

With such characteristics, preference in the construction of modern pipelines, of course, has a sliding support. The price varies from several hundred rubles to tens of thousands and directly depends on the mass, length, size, design, material of manufacture and some other aspects.

PPU pipes

Pipes having a polyurethane foam sheath are widely used for laying highways in those cases where a low degree of thermal conductivity is required.

Sam polyurethane foam is a kind of foam. It is used as a heat insulator. This is an environmentally friendly material that is not susceptible to fungal and mold damage, rotting. Durable, wear-resistant, with low thermal conductivity, it constitutes a serious competition for other types of heat insulators.

Sliding support PPU has some design features: an increased length of the support pad and wider clamps. To prevent deformation of the shell of polyurethane pipes, rubber is used as the insulating material most often.

Scope of application

The main areas of production, where the sliding support has the most application:

  • metallurgy;
  • Machine building;
  • Oil refining;
  • building;
  • Heat power engineering;
  • Housing and utilities;
  • Gas production.

On the main pipelines sliding supports help to keep the thermal insulation coating, protect them from the adverse effects of the external environment and ensure free longitudinal movement of the pipes.
