Biography

Sergei's biography began on December 6, 1949 in Moscow. He was born in the family of sculptor Victor Tsigal and artist Mirel Shaginyan.

From school years, Tsigal began to show a craving for travel, at the age of 16 he went on an expedition to Southern Sakhalin. Another passion for the future animal painter from childhood was biology, Sergei was carried away by it after one day the teacher took him to the department of ichthyology, where he was allowed to open various fish. And despite the fact that Sergei Tsigal graduated from the Faculty of Geography of Moscow State University (in 1973), the craving for biology did not disappear. He worked in the laboratory of GeLAN (helminthology laboratory of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR), led by K.I. Scriabin, an outstanding domestic scientist, the founder of Russian helminthology (the science of parasites). Fascinated by this science, Sergei Tsigal wrote a diploma on parasites of salmonids and after university became an employee of the All-Russian Research Institute of Marine Fisheries and Oceanography.

At the age of 30, he decided to quit his career as a scientist and become a free artist.

Career of the artist

Sergei Tsigal before 30 years did not study drawing and never tried it. But it was at this age, with the help of his father, he joined the Youth Union of Artists. I began my studies in a drawing circle.

Deciding to be professionally engaged in drawing, Sergei enters the famous Stroganov School, where he studies at the faculty of "interior and equipment." At this time, he begins to go on sketches to the Crimea, to engage in jewelry. Then they plant a greyhound dog and start painting it with their father and son - Victor and Sergei.

Then Sergey and his wife Lyubov Polishchuk received an offer from Mikhail Shirvindt and Alexander Konyashov to create a series of culinary programs called "Hunters for recipes." Personal life

In 1981, when he saw Love Polischuk in one of the performances, Sergei clearly decided that this was the woman with whom he wanted to link fate. The artist began to attend all the performances with her participation, connected all friends who somehow could help get acquainted with the beauty. Perseverance was rewarded, the actress responded reciprocally to the ardent artist. They were happy together, but they did not intend to sign, until it became clear that Luba was waiting for the child. Sergei's parents warmly supported their decision to legitimize relations. A daughter was named after her grandmother Marietta Shahinyan (but for many she's just Masha).

It was a very harmonious couple, they did a lot together - traveled, cooked, spent vacations in the Crimea, argued, but always supported each other.

Sergei did not give up until the very last moment, did not give up and did not give up trying to cure Love from a terrible illness. But, alas, fate decreed otherwise.

But after the death of Polishchuk in the family there was a split. Relations between Sergei and Alexei Makarov did not work out, it turned out that the only thing that connected them was Love. The struggle for the inheritance did not add warmth to their relationship, and today Sergei and his stepson hardly communicate.
