Review: HTC One M8. Disadvantages and advantages of a cell phone

Assembly

Thanks to the automatic adjustment, you can completely forget about the user's intervention in the settings, and this pleases, especially since for this feature the phone has received more than one positive feedback.

HTC One M8 has acquired some differences from the display of the previous version of the M7. The new model supports touch with a stylus, has an improved response to touch with wet fingers and allows the user to work with the screen in gloves.

Camera

Like the previous generation, the new model is equipped with a camera in 4 MP. In fact, the HTC One M8 camera is divided into two parts - the main one and the additional one. The first (UltraPixel) has a f / 2.0 aperture and a 28 mm lens, and the second collects detailed information about the depth of the scene and the focus points. All this together is called HTC Duo Camera and offers the owner a lot of new features and distinctive features when working with photography.

The camera has a wide range of scenarios that allow you to thoroughly study the depth of the scene, change the focus in automatic and manual mode, blur objects, leaving only the subject of photography, impose animation or image effects.

Video

Video from the camera can be written at a maximum resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. The average recording speed is about 30 frames per second with a bitrate of 20 Mbps. The sound track is written in stereo mode with an average quality of 190 Kbps, which is quite good for HTC One M8.

The review and focus can be changed manually or with the help of tracking autofocus, but in the latter case, the optical stabilization work is visible to the maximum degree of video magnification, which some may not like. The microphone copes with the task for five points: there is no sound mess and all sounds are quite distinct, which is not prevented even by gusts of wind or the noise of the train.

The price of continuous operation of the device is a rather powerful and non-removable Li-Pol battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh (approximately 300 mAh). Previous model M7 when playing high quality video (720 r) was able to hold on for just over seven hours, while the M8 with the same conditions reached the threshold at 10 o'clock.

If we talk about the daily and fairly active use of the smartphone, then the battery lasts for about a day: 40-60 minutes of talking, 3-4 hours for music and radio, 1-2 hours for the Internet, 20-30 SMS messages and mail in push- Mail address.

The smartphone is equipped with the ability to switch to an energy-saving mode, saving a significant part of the battery, reducing the brightness of the display, removing vibration and other small consumers. As a critical mode, there is an increased energy saving directive with the sensor, sensors and all applications disconnected. Only the ability to call, receive / send SMS and a mail client is available.

Summarizing

At the moment, the M8 is a combination of all the best that the Taiwanese company NTS can do: it is easily recognizable, unlike other smartphones, a convenient and understandable device for any user. Of course, there are some minuses and some "glitches" in the lineup, but as a whole the model was a success and deserves attention.
