Restaurants on Tverskaya in Moscow: description, photo

Tverskaya Street is a cultural and part-time gastronomic center of the capital. Cafes, bars, catering establishments are found almost at every step. And what about restaurants on Tverskaya?

Their concentration per square meter, too, is off scale, so the choice is simply huge. All restaurants on Tverskaya want to surprise guests with their own highlight, which competitors do not have. This article gives an overview of the most popular of them.

"John Jolie" (Tverskaya 20/1)

This restaurant of Georgian cuisine decided to abandon the standard slogans, so at the entrance there is a bouncing sign in the form of a lamb, which says that "it's tasteless, expensive, and there are no places." Here is a PR move that works successfully. Go to "John Jolie" - it's like getting into a house with a Georgian family. Carpets on the walls, huge authentic clay vases, hanging everywhere cornucopia, dishes with national ornaments - the Caucasian color here is felt in everything. Reconciliation over the bar is hung all those hard-to-pronounce delicacies, with which Georgian trays are decorated in the markets (churchkhela, pelamushi, kozinaki). Other restaurants on Tverskaya, and in all of Moscow, can not boast such a capacious summer veranda. The decor is made here a little differently than in the main hall: a canopy, wicker furniture, linen cushions.

The menu itself is decorated with humor: all the same little sheep gleams with sparkling Georgian jokes. Among the specialties here are offered jonjoli. This is one of the brightest and specific delicacies in Georgian cuisine, which is made from flower buds of shrubs growing only in the Caucasus. It is served to welcome guests. Also, in addition to the more habitual chebureks, khinkali, khachapuri, pilau, lyulya-kebab, shish kebab, chakhohbili, chanakhs, kupaty, chkmeruli, tsitsila, kaurma, kutuba, dolma, acmu and much more are being cooked. From here, with an empty stomach, you just can not get out, because you are not fed a hungry person with a genatzale.

"Manito" (Tverskaya, 27, p. 1)

This restaurant is convinced that Mexico is very close to Moscow - just at a fork distance. Here, a whole gastronomic culture was recreated, which dates back to the time of the ancient Aztecs. The interior is very colorful: the terracotta-blue scale predominates, the tables are laid with tablecloths with a unique pattern, cacti grow everywhere, you can take pictures in real sombrero. To all this, we also need to add a DJ from Colombia, free dance lessons on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Latin-style parties and mariachi musicians playing national motives. The kitchen here is Mexican-Peruvian. It is notable for its sharpness, but here you can indicate when you order your preferences and adjust the amount of spices. The most popular positions are sevice, burrito, tacos, quesadilla, pariwell, carnitas. No less demanded and cocktails of exotic fruits.

"Armenia" (Tverskaya, 17)

This restaurant continues the theme of the cuisines of the peoples of the world. The interior here is battling with its luxury. This effect gives a combination of white and gold colors in the design, mosaic paintings on the walls, wooden furniture with expensive upholstery, forging and stucco molding with grape motifs. As for the menu, the emphasis is not on the number of dishes offered, but on quality. Here they serve all kinds of shish kebabs, as well as kyufta, tolma, hashlama, hurdzhin, Armenian okroshka. As for strong drinks, here you will be offered vintage wines and cognacs from sunny Armenia.

"Chayhona No. 1" (Tverskaya, 24)

Those who find it difficult to determine the choice of cuisine can visit this chain of restaurants, because it is designed for a wide gastronomic audience. Uzbek, Georgian, Japanese, Chinese, and Italian dishes are served here. Interior slightly tends to oriental style: there are many bamboo partitions. The variety of dishes is amazing. In the menu there is also a lagman, and shurpa, and shash-kebab, and sushi, and pizza. So in "Chayhona No. 1" you can safely experiment and combine incongruous.

Novikov (Tverskaya, 3)

Some restaurants on Tverskaya (Moscow) are located in hotels. So Novikov is on the first floor of The Ritz-Carlton. It is designed mainly for guests, but the residents of the capital also do not bypass this restaurant. In the interior design, there is a clear geometry: red and gray rectangular chairs look great against the backdrop of black walls, oval wooden tables, a series of round lamps that resemble an inverted vase and windows in the form of rhombuses. Very showcased window: appetizing fresh vegetables with ice, laid out in straight rows.

It serves dishes exclusively from the Land of the Rising Sun. There are also rolls, sushi and sashimi already familiar to the Russian stomach, as well as a huge assortment of Japanese first dishes (miso soup, tom yang), hot dishes (kobe, ribai) snacks (kimchi, Japanese tofu, edamame). The emphasis here is on seafood, so here you can try such exotic things as sea rooster, black cod, Chilean sea bass, yellowtail, king crab. Rice and noodles are impressive with a variety of options.

02 Lounge (Tverskaya, 3)

If you go up to the 12th floor of the same hotel, then there is a lovely terrace overlooking the Kremlin and Red Square. Here you can look at the capital from above, abstract from the bustling metropolis in the lounge atmosphere. A feed here mostly Japanese dishes. But the main feature of the establishment are alcoholic cocktails, which include the most unexpected ingredients, for example, elder, horse-radish or radish.

Scenario (Tverskaya, 22a)

A bit of European romance in its weekdays suggests adding this cafe-restaurant. From time to time there are theme music evenings with different scenarios (hence the name). The interior is decorated in Art Nouveau style. Here you will find a huge number of sofas and chairs of various shapes and shades. And the kitchen in Scenario is Mediterranean. The colorful palette of appetizers and salads gives way to variations on the theme of pasta, pizza and focaccio; Fanfares come refined hot dishes with many kinds of meat, fish and poultry, including grilled ones. In addition to Italian dishes, there are some elements of the Serbian (meatballs of the Pleskavica) and French (soup velyute) kitchens.

"Mug" (Tverskaya, 7)

That's so simple and with a sense called a beer restaurant, which immediately sets up a democratic way. This is a place for sports fans and just beer lovers. The institution has large plasma screens for broadcasting matches. But in no case can not consider the "mug" eatery, where they go to drink a beer and have a snack. The menu here is mostly simple and familiar international dishes with a bias towards home cooking (borsch, shish kebab, dumplings, pancakes). I am glad that the prices in the mug are very moderate. Nearby there are other beer restaurants (Tverskaya): Lookin Rooms and Bellis Bar.

"Rake" (Tverskaya, 18, page 1)

The slogan of this institution is "tasty as at home". The furnishings here are elegant, recalls illustrations in books with fairy tales. And the prices for both the center of Moscow are just comic. The menu is European, although most come to eat traditional borsch, pickle, and patties in Kiev. Simple and familiar to the stomach side dishes, vitamin salads, hearty first dishes explain why many on such "Rake" want to attack again and again. Many restaurants (Tverskaya Street), like this one, were in the past catering establishments. Although since that time they have experienced dramatic changes in the design of the interior, service and quality of the menu, but retained their democratic character. Prices here are more affordable for the average resident of the capital, so many office workers come here daily to eat lunch.

"Dial" (Tverskaya, 12, page 1)

Some restaurants on Tverskaya attract not some special menu, but the format of the institution itself. Here and "Dial" among these. This institution positions itself as an anti-penalty. There is a completely different approach to rest in restaurants. Here they pay for the time spent in the "Dial" (as the name suggests). A minute is quite inexpensive: 3 rubles in the first hour and 2 rubles, starting with the second. Tea, coffee, sweets are included in the price of time. You can also bring food with you. People come here who like to work outside the home. The establishment is designed in the style of a home apartment, where everyone will find their secluded nook. In "Dial" there are concerts of live music, master classes, conversational evenings, movie nights. But here there are two taboos - smoking and alcohol.

Aragvi Restaurant on Tverskaya Street

This is a legendary institution, of which, probably, every Muscovite heard. "Aragvi" (restaurant in Moscow on Tverskaya) is located on the site of the hotel "Dresden", built in the XIX century. In it, stayed Turgenev, Nekrasov, Pirogov, Pushkin, Chekhov. And the building itself is considered one of the oldest surviving stone buildings in Moscow. "Aragvi" (a restaurant in Moscow on Tverskaya) was opened in 1938 and exists to this day. He was considered the most elite in the USSR. The party elite always dined here.

The restaurant "Aragvi" on Tverskaya's menu has two bright directions: Russian and Caucasian. It serves dishes familiar from childhood: forshmak, cold, pike caviar, homemade pickles, cabbage rolls, dumplings, soup, borsch, but this range is not limited. In the menu there are chakapuli, chkmeruli, kharcho, chanakhi, khichiny, mchadi, phali, ajapsandali, gebjaliya, salad from pork ears, tsitsmati and much more. The assortment of dishes resembles the content of the popular in the USSR "Books about tasty and healthy food". Arriving at the restaurant "Aragvi" on Tverskaya Street (photo of which is submitted below), guests with good taste will appreciate the impeccable interior. Also they will like the musical accompaniment.

Restaurants on Tverskaya Street, of course, not everyone can afford. The average check in most of them is 2000 rubles. But nevertheless visitors there though take away. And if it is a weekend, then the table is generally best booked in advance.
