Rating of vodkas of 2015

Vodka is a traditional Russian drink. This is not surprising - the Slavs knew a lot about strong drugs. From time immemorial in the territory of today's Russia people cooked kvass, wine, mead, braga. The term "vodka" began to be applied closer to the XX century, and before that the drug was called wheaten or some other wine.

From the history of creating vodka

Alcohol was obtained during the experiment by Italian or Arab alchemists. They have made many discoveries in search of a philosopher's stone. Whatever it was, the first mention of vodka is contained in the Vyatka chronicle of the 12th century. Although many researchers are sure that they brewed strong drinks long before this written mention.

Widely used the term "vodka" only in the XIX century. This is not surprising: even in the XVI century in Moscow was opened the first "tsar's tavern" - an analogue of the modern bar. Here, visitors tried different strong drinks, but the most popular was Russian vodka. Over the centuries, the government monopolized distilling, then taxed this industry, then struggled with total consumption of alcohol, it made production "strong" exclusive privilege of the nobility. Under Catherine II, every landlord producer produced his own brand of vodka. The competition was huge, and the quality of the product was excellent. In those days, the official rating of vodka was not one, but nonetheless anise and pepper drinks were valued above the rest.

Competition between spirits

Vodka was produced not only in Russia - on other continents this drink also acquired its connoisseurs. The Swedish vodka "Absolute", which for a long time was the world leader, does not miss its positions even now. It's no wonder that the Americans created the competition between the best spirits of the world: they are famous for their ability to make objective ratings. The first such consumer survey was conducted in 2011 by a company that imports vodka in the United States.

Following their western friends introduced this practice in Russia and the CIS countries. Every year, already proven manufacturers and newcomers of the industry exhibit their product at the trial of an independent jury.
