Ramenskoe Airport: history, construction, prospects

Ramenskoe Airport, located in the suburbs, will soon become a major international transport hub. Previously, it was used only to carry out experimental flights. But since 2012, they started talking about servicing passenger transportation in it, which will significantly reduce the burden on other capital airports.

Airport Information

Ramenskoe Airport named after Gromov is located in the city of Zhukovsky. Noteworthy is the fact that the airfield complex does not have a certain class, since it is designed to ensure the take-off and landing of absolutely any airliner without any restrictions on the take-off mass. Runway number 12L / 30R - the largest in length in the whole of Europe. Its length is 5.4 km and its width is 70 m. The other runway 08L / 26R is under reconstruction, so now it is used as a taxiway and aircraft parking.

Ramenskoe Airport is the base airport for the design bureaus Il, Tu, Sukhoi, as well as for the Federal State Institution of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service, Alrosa Avia and Aviastar-Tu. It also provides maintenance of air cargo services.

The airfield complex in Zhukovsky was built in the 80's. It was intended to send fragments of the orbital ship-rocket "Buran" to the Kazakhstan cosmodrome "Baikonur".

In 2012, it was decided to create on its base an airport that will be part of the infrastructure of the Moscow Transport Aviation Node. This decision was made in connection with the fact that three Moscow airports can not cope with the volume of passenger traffic and new runways have not yet been put into operation.

Construction of the airport in Ramenskoye: stages

Construction work within the project includes three stages. It is expected that the construction will be completed by 2019. To this end, 34.5 hectares of land have been allocated on the territory of the airfield complex, which will house three terminals (including one cargo terminal), parking and parking for cars, service stations, hotels, offices, Buildings for commercial use.

The first stage is to be completed in 2016. During this period, the terminal will be put into operation for the service of air passengers, the area of which is 15,000 m 2 , and the maximum capacity is 1800,000 people per year. Also, the construction of a 4-lane highway leading to the terminal building will be completed.

The second stage is completed by the end of 2017. It is assumed that at this time the construction of the second passenger terminal, which is twice as large as the first one, will be completed. The throughput will increase to 6000000 passengers. A parking lot and a hotel complex will be built. Until 2017, the existing cargo terminal will undergo reconstruction and will be able to provide customs and warehouse services.

The third stage will last from the end of 2017 to 2019. At this time, the area of the first terminal will increase by 2 times. The maintenance point for aircraft will also be put into operation.

In 2021, the airport terminal will be able to serve up to 12,000,000 people a year.

Ramenskoye Airport on the map: how to get there

The building of the new airport is located between Moscow region cities - Zhukovsky and Ramensky - 3 km from the railway station "42 km".

Within the framework of construction works, the question of the development of transport infrastructure is being solved . It is supposed that the "Rest" platform will be reconstructed, where the Kazan railway stops. From the platform to the terminal, passengers will travel by bus.

At present, you can get there by taxi, buses or electric trains. Buses follow from the metro station "Kotelniki" at intervals of half an hour. A train to the platform "Recreation" and "42 km" are sent from the Kazan railway station.

Prospects

By March this year, the new airport will change its name and become "Zhukovsky".

Within five years, more than 10 billion rubles were invested in the project. By the end of the third stage of construction, more than 240 km 2 of infrastructure will be put into operation. Thus, in the year more than 10 million passengers can be served here.

The air-transport junction in Ramenskoye will become a single center for civil, experimental and state aviation. It is the inclusion of civil aviation in the scope of the company's activities will attract new investments.

Flights

The new airport in Ramenskoye has been starting to service passenger flights since March 2016. However, the schedule has not yet been compiled.

Initially, it was planned that the flights will be carried out from 2015 by the local loukoster "Dobrolet", later renamed to "Victory", but due to sanctions the company's activity was suspended. Now it became known that the first flights will be carried out by the carrier of "HayFly".

It is assumed that low-budget airlines will be based in Ramensky, since they do not have their own "air harbor".

Airport "Ramenskoye" - the fourth "air gates" of Moscow. Its construction began in 2012, and it begins to work already in March this year. Such successes were achieved with the support of the state. But he will not be able to compete with the three capital airports.
