Patterns on the glass: how to make? Do patterns on the glass with your own hands

The stained-glass windows still impress the imagination of our contemporaries along with fireplaces and rocking chairs. For us, all this - signs of romance, prosperity, comfort and beauty. But if before the stained-glass windows adorned the temples and houses of the nobility, now almost any person can order them. Moreover, the patterns on the glass now adorn not only the window openings. They decorate interior doors and glass doors on cabinets, vases, glasses and lampshades, decorate them in the form of paintings, put on the windows of the car - and whether any other application can find this adornment an inventive person in pursuit of beauty.

Even more attractive patterns on the glass are due to the fact that using modern materials and technologies to decorate their favorite home a person can and independently. Even if the ability to draw it is not enough - enough desire, diligence and accuracy.

What can you draw on the glass? The simplest "paint"

When choosing materials, you first need to consider what and where you are going to draw. If you just need a decorative inscription with some small picture on the front door, and there is a possibility that it will have to be changed in due course - you can draw on the glass with clerical glue with mascara. Silicate is added one-tenth. On the glass a contour of a drawing or inscription is outlined - and they are filled with the received composition. However, the colorful picture does not work - the richness of the shades does not have ink. But it keeps firmly, does not wash off water, and if it is necessary to remove it, it can be easily removed with a solvent and a clerical knife (or, better, with a razor blade).

Christmas decorations of windows

The frosty patterns on the glass are more short-lived - but they only need it until Christmas. For their application, there are several ways: toothpaste, dissolved in water and sprayed on the glass from the spray gun; Beer with magnesia in the ratio of half a cup to 50 g; Fixer for photos ... However, there are such patterns on the glass, their own hands created, only to the nearest washing of windows, and if you draw a picture for a long admiration, you will have to fix it additionally. When "long-term" frosty stained-glass windows are required, craftsmen are advised to use carpentry glue. To make such paintings look even more reliable, the surface of the glass should be made of matte - sand, beer or matting paint.

Full-featured painting

Previously, ordinary oil paints were used for drawing on glass . The result was not inspiring: it turned out roughly, with streaks and uneven shades. Naturally, because of the unsuitable surface, the picture could be smeared at any time and required a varnish coating.

If you are wondering what colors paint on the glass full-color paintings today, pay attention to the stained glass. They do not spread over the surface, and after drying do not require fixation with additional reagents. Such colors are of two types: those that require burning, and those that do not need it. The latter, naturally, require less labor and are more saturated in terms of brightness. True, they dry for a long time - up to three weeks - but folk cunning and craftsmen figured out how to shorten this term. In principle, the idea lay on the surface: it is enough to use a conventional hair dryer, and the drying time is reduced to a day.

Rules of success

Before you start painting on the glass, it must necessarily be degreased. It is not difficult to achieve this simply with water with soap or the usual wiper. Then the glass should be dried. If it is wiped, the process will go faster and there will be no traces of drops, but the fabric should be chosen so that it does not leave villi on the surface.

At the preparatory stage, the contours of the drawing you like are painted on the glass. Ideally, this should be done with a pencil, but it can be replaced with a thin marker. And if the pattern is applied to a flat surface, a carbon copy will do.

The template is placed under the bottom of the base, and patterns for painting on glass are outlined by the selected tool. It is clear, if a carbon paper is used, then a sheet with a picture is placed on top in a mirror image. Traditionally, thin paper is used for the templates, but on their own experience those who have already done painting have ascertained that the transparent film from the file for documents is much more convenient.

Very responsible moment

Immediately paint the patterns on the glass, focusing on the contours, you can not - still not with the paper work. First outlines are outlined with a special contour paste. Most often it is taken in black, silver or golden color. The choice depends on both personal preferences and the style of the selected picture. In addition to giving the picture more clarity, such contours in the future will not allow the paints to spread and mix with each other.

If the hand has flinched somewhere, the error is corrected by a stick with fleece; While the paste is not withered, it is easily erased.

At the end of the stroke, the workpiece is left for a while, so that the contour paste is dried and not smeared afterwards. Full drying is not required: in a day the glass will be ready for further manipulation.

Main job

If you do not really trust your artistic abilities, it is advisable to have a color picture, which you will check with coloring. For each approach, you only need to draw on glass with one color: that is, first all the details are drawn, say, red, then the brush is washed and another color is taken. Paints are so much less spent - and they are not cheap.

If your patterns on the glass somewhere lay a more thin layer, you'll have to wait until the applied paint dries before you saturate the color with the desired fragment. Otherwise, more brightness on this material is not achieved.

Subtlety and secrets

In order not to be disappointed in your first experience, it would be nice to listen to the advice of more experienced comrades-in-arms. So, all in one voice say that at first it's better to limit yourself to a small size and a flat surface - bends to you for a while will still be unavailable.

Before you draw on the glass, you need to take care of the abutment for the working hand, and it is better to practice on the paper so as not to spoil the paint and glass. Otherwise, the hand will quickly get tired and start to tremble.

Brushes for work should be chosen as thin as possible - they will allow you to draw even very small details. And do not forget to wash the tools after every use: the paint dries up tightly, and the next morning you can only throw away the brush, it will not be possible to wash them.

Unsuccessful strokes and strokes in no case over the top do not paint over - it does not work out, the glass is too smooth surface. Such places are neatly cleaned with a cotton swab and painted again.

Paint inevitably forms small bubbles. In order not to affect the final result, they must be carefully punctured with a pin or toothpick.

Mandatory review

Before you send your patterns on the glass to dry, look at them at the gap opposite the window or lamp to see the drawbacks drawn. And it must be done in the process of work, in order to notice and eliminate defects in time.

It is necessary to shine very carefully. If the paint spreads, the number of flaws will increase dramatically, and not the fact that you will manage to fix them all.

It is possible that, carried away by painting on the glass, you will discover some additional tricks. But what you already know is enough to create your own masterpiece. And let it be just a glass door in your cupboard - you can not find such an exclusivity anywhere else.
