Patterns for embroideries of children's, men's and women's. The history of patterns for embroideries

People, in whatever historical period they live, have always been characterized by a desire for beauty and harmony. Is it because our distant ancestors cared about the external neatness, they tried to make dwellings cozy, and decorate their clothes with a variety of embroidery?

Excursion to the history

Artistic embroidery is an ancient craft. Art is inherent in almost all peoples inhabiting our planet. North American Indians and Chukchi reindeer herders, African tribes and ancient Celts, Slavs and Australian aborigines - all large and small nationalities put on their clothes a variety of ornaments: who are colored threads, who are beads or small shells, who are semiprecious stones, etc.

Patterns for embroideries - Ukrainian shirts and blouses, among others, perform one more important function. The figure on the fabric conveys essential information about the person wearing the thing, about his kind, his social position.

Value of color

The colors used to make patterns for embroideries are also symbolic. Previously, some tones and shades could be used only for men's clothing, others - for women's or children's. Moreover, young people had to decorate shirts or belts with patterns of such colors that were not used in the clothing of mature or elderly men. In general, the patterns for embroideries hide many very interesting secrets that have a secret sacred meaning. They have always been the fruit of a complex and very laborious work. Unfortunately, over the past two centuries, ritual drawing on tissue has lost its relevance. And now the patterns for embroideries, as well as the embroidered ones themselves, are increasingly perceived as an attribute of the national costume.

Aryan symbols

Depending on the region of residence, local culture and customs, tribal traditions, the same people put their special understanding in the same ornaments. And the current masters, who are trying to revive the old art, take this fact into account in their work. Therefore, the patterns for Ukrainian embroideries, if they are executed by all the rules, become not just a bright, memorable element, but also an effective amulet. Take, for example, diamonds and crosses. They form the strongest energy protection, especially if the patterns for Ukrainian embroideries are on the chest, on the collar where the material is in contact with the skin, and on the wrists. It is very good, if in these places will be welded or twists. Svargi have ancient Aryan sources and embody the strength of spirit, the will to win. The serpents are the Old Slavic sign of the sun, solstice, eternity itself, the eternal movement of life and its victory over death. Usually a pattern for embroidery with such symbols is used for men's shirts.

When Patterns Are Treated

Among the southern Slavs, one of the popular motifs of embroidery was vines with bunches, twisted twigs with leaves. Grapes are a symbol of female fertility. Nashvkoy in the form of it was decorated with sleeves of shirts and dresses, the outer clothing of married girls, so that they could bear and give birth to babies. For men, this pattern did not fit. What is more interesting: if the pattern of the pattern for embroidery required the use of blue, it was applied to children's clothing. It was believed that such an ornament serves as a protection against accidents, and if a child is hurt or injured, the injuries will heal faster without causing the little tomboy unnecessary troubles. There was a so-called borshchevskaya embroidery combining floral and animal motifs (roses, butterflies, birds). If the ornament from the flowers was added and svarogu, it turned out not just an elegant shirt or blouse, and a guard against diseases of blood vessels and heart. Borshchev's patterns were used for embroidering women's and men's, especially recommended to people of advanced age.

Defense of the Higher Forces

Peasant clothes of the past centuries, which can be seen in ethnographic museums, as well as towels (towels) that adorn family images, often contain images of butterflies and birds. And if such patterns for women's embroidery are perceived quite normally, then for men they are not very suitable. However, this view is wrong, and our ancestors knew what they were doing! It turns out that birds and butterflies symbolize guardian angels sent over to protect us from troubles and evil influence. Therefore, similar motives for men's shirts and belts were chosen, especially if the occupation of the stronger sex was associated with a risk: hunting or army. And, of course, the patterns for baby embroideries did not do without butterflies, moths and birds - after all, babies can not be without God's protection!

On the threshold of the wedding

The strongest amulet was sewing and sieve. Its main application is to decorate wedding dresses of the bride and groom. It was carried out with white silk threads or beads on a white background with various techniques (smooth surface, stalk seam , etc.). The sacred meaning of the picture, symbolic overtones is the personification of the moral and physical purity of the newlyweds and the wish for a happy married life. Therefore, the lattil patterns for embroideries of men and women were called wedding.

Geometric style

Slavic mythology marked the beginning of many secret symbols, ciphered in geometric patterns. It is primarily circles, broken lines and parallel straight lines, rhombuses, zigzags, crosses. It was from here that the patterns for cross-stitch embroidery went - the oldest, whose origins lie in Trypillian culture. In addition, the type of drawings refers to the "eight" - a sign of infinity, personifying the element of water, and an octagonal flower - the Sun, signifying the elements of light, fire, life. Both symbols were included in the pattern for embroidery of a boy and a girl, since they were considered an amulet combining maternal and paternal energies. And especially for young men and young people, mothers, and then wives, have shirts embroidered with blue diamonds with dots in the middle. In the people there was an opinion that such an ornament strengthens male power.

Elements of nature

Vegetative ornament in clothes should emphasize the original relationship of man and nature, their unity, and nourish the human race with the life-giving force of Mother Earth. Most often in Ukrainian and Russian embroideries one could see hops, periwinkles, grapes, viburnum, oak leaves, and this is not accidental. Kalina, for example, denoted the relationship of man with his homeland, kin, kin, roots, ancestors. And from them he received support and patronage, and the connecting threads were the corresponding embroidered patterns. In addition, the viburnum had another secret meaning - according to the beliefs of the other Proto-Slavic tribes, it was from her that the birth of the heavenly world began, for the stars, the moon and the moon appeared from the berries of the tree.

Another sacred tree is an oak that connects heaven and earth, a spiritual and material world. Oak - it is steadfastness, strength, inexhaustible vitality, patron of the male principle.

Grape vines, as we have already said, is a female ornament, and also a family one. They were decorated with festive tablecloths, towels, bed linens for spouses.

Patterns with hops of hops often flaunted on the shirts of young guys and talked about fun, cheerfulness, restless disposition.

Often on embroidered flaxes were also ardent - defenders of evil eye, slanting looks and speeches.

Zoomorphic motifs

Stylized images of butterflies, birds and even some animals are frequent guests in folk embroidery. Their appearance can not be called an accident. Of birds, roosters, cuckoos, owls were embroidered. Why them? The rooster, as an ornament and pride of a peasant farmstead, a chicken's head, was loved for his sedate temper and bright plumage. Peasant daily life was built according to cock crowing: they warned about approaching morning, and they warned about lunch time, and they said that they were at rest. This bird was instead of hours. So they showed her respect, began to depict on embroidery.

The cuckoo also leads the years of human life. To avoid the trouble and let's live a lot more life, and embroidered cuckoo.
