Mountains of Kazakhstan: height, coordinates, history and description

In the Republic of Kazakhstan, mountaineering is flourishing, tourism indicators are growing. All this is due to the mountains that are located here. This region is not only indescribably beautiful, but also a paradise for real connoisseurs of heights.

What mountains are popular in Kazakhstan? Practically everything. There are high-altitude and low-mountain areas, which are visited by an equal number of people. The nature of this region is beautiful due to the snow, which for a long time lie on the tops of mountains and rocky ridges.

Kazakhstan

The Republic of Kazakhstan is located in Eurasia. It occupies more than 2 million km 2 , making it the ninth in the world and the second among the CIS countries in terms of area.

It borders at once with five states: Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. From several sides it is washed by the waters of the Caspian Sea and the Aral Sea. Kazakhstan is one of the big countries that does not have access to the World Ocean.

Throughout the country there are various terrain and climatic zones. The most common are desert (36%), steppe (35%), semi-desert (18%), forest (5.9%).

The north of the Republic is located on the West Siberian Plain. In the south, mountains of Kazakhstan called Kokshetau formed from it.

The West of the state is on the East European Plain. It houses the Poduralskoe Plateau and the Caspian Lowland. In this territory there are small mountains of Mugodzhary. They are the continuation of the Urals.

The republic is divided into 14 regions and 2 independent cities. By geographical factors is divided into several regions.

Mountains of Kazakhstan

The mountains are surrounded by small lakes Chelkar and Imantau. One of the tops of Ayyrtau has a height of 500 meters. On the slopes there is a dense pine forest.

Another, no less famous array, is located in the Pavlodar region. These are Bayanaul mountains. They stretch from the western part of the state to its east and occupy 50 km, the length from north to south is slightly less - 25 km.

The peak of the massif is Mount Akbet, its height is 1027 meters. There are many minerals here, in particular granite, porphyrite and quartzite. Shale and sandstone is much less common.

Like other mountains of Kazakhstan, whose names are known to every inhabitant, the Bayanul mountains have a long-tier structure.

A low-mountain massif is also Degelen. Its length is 20 km, and the width is only 16 km. It is located in the eastern part of the melkosopochnik. Some of its peaks have a height of 1 thousand meters. The slopes are dominated by the steppe relief. Shrubs grow in valleys of adjoining rivers.

Mountains of Eastern Kazakhstan

The east of the state is covered with unique plants, and is also rich in many species of animals, for the protection of which reserves are built. Deciduous and fir plantings adorn the rocks, and the territory around them is meadow. Markakol National Reserve has its own highlight - Lake Markakol, located in the hollow of one of the mountains. Its length is 38 km, its width is 19 km and its depth is 27 m. More than 27 rivers and small streams flow into the reservoir, but its mouth is only for Calgir. The waters of Carcacol are clean. They are home to salmon fish, which can be called the main wealth of the watercourse.

The eastern mountains of Kazakhstan are located near the junction of the borders of such states as Mongolia, Russia and China. They are a system of Altai, Saur-Tarbagatai and Kalba. The height of the peaks ranges from 900 m to 1,400 m. The extreme east of Altai is rich in relatively high centers. For example, one of the mountains has a height of 4 thousand meters.

The climate is sharp, it has continental features. The air temperature is constantly changing.

The list of "High Mountains of Kazakhstan" is headed by the eastern peak of Belukha. Its height is about 4506 meters. It is the highest in both Altai and Siberia. Yermantau

Yermentau - the mountains of Kazakhstan, the territory of which captures Akmola and Karaganda region. There are many steppes, hills, ridges. The massif belongs to melkosopochniku and Timano-Altai system. The central peak is Akdim, its height is 901 meters.

A sufficient number of animals are found here. Their species are diverse. You can meet both steppe, forest, and mountain representatives.

The Kazakh highlands of Yermentau are represented by a wide gene pool of vegetation. The flora of this zone is quite unique, as some plant representatives have survived to this day. Rare and unique plants - they can be met by visiting the tops of the massif. Due to certain environmental and climatic conditions in small areas there are more than 400 species of vascular plants.

Rudny Altai

Rudny Altai is situated between the Charysh and Irtysh rivers. These are the high mountains of Kazakhstan. The name was suggested to the scientists of Kotulski because there are huge deposits of polymetallic ore in these places . The main minerals that are mined here are sphalerite, pyrite and others. Pale ores, gold, silver and tellurides are not so important for the state, but their extraction still does not stop.

Large deposits of the massif form strips running in the north-west direction. In the Irtysh region there are lead, copper and zinc ores.

Tien Shan

Tien Shan - mountains of the Republic of Kazakhstan, located immediately on the territory of four countries. This is China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The name comes from the Chinese phrase, which means "heavenly mountains". This array combines many vertices, the height of which exceeds 6 thousand meters. This allows the Tien-Shan system to be one of the highest mountains in the world. It consists of several chains, which differ from each other in width, length and height. The length of the Tien Shan is 2500 km from west to east. The highest point is the Victory Peak (height - 7439 meters).

Ukok

One of the most famous highlands is Ukok. It is located in the south of the Altai. The absolute height of the peaks ranges from 2200 to 2500 meters. The ridges stretched for 500 meters.

The maximum height is 4374 meters. This is the Quinen-Uul mountain. It occupies the second place among the Altai mountains in the ranking, behind Belukha.

The Kokchetav Upland

The Kokchetav Upland is a low-mountainous Kazakh massif. Its highest altitude is 947 meters (Mount Sinyuha). The slopes are covered with forest. In depressions, birch plantations and pine forests prevail.

The beautiful place of Kazakhstan is the Turgen gorge. Here you can find lakes, rivers, waterfalls, springs and springs that will surprise with its cleanliness and its beautiful view. The slopes of this place are decorated with meadows, and in the center there is the river Assa.
