The Hermitage is not only a large museum. Especially in order to open the world of beauty to people, the Hermitage's lecture hall works. He has two addresses: the first lecture hall is in one of the new buildings of the storage facility, the second - in the former General Staff building on Palace Square. For one day, it is unlikely that you will be able to visit both halls, so you should prepare for a meeting with art in advance.

On the Palace Square for many years there is a lecture hall. It is called a hall where artists' paintings come to life. Here you can listen to several lecture cycles. Themes are different, they cover the entire history of mankind in the works of artists from primitive days to modern times.

There are not indifferent employees working here who gladly tell stories about the past. Under their unhurried monologue, all the slides displayed on the screen seem to be not just beautiful paintings, but windows in the past centuries.

A small room with red soft armchairs is very cozy, for notes each armchair is equipped with a folding table. A large screen for displaying slides from all places is clearly visible. Slides allow you to view art objects from a profitable perspective. In the course of the lecture, the guide draws attention to various details.

Traditionally, after each session - applause to the narrator.
