Lantern battery - a ray of light in the twilight of the night
It would seem that such an uncomplicated business is to choose a flashlight. Why so much easier! But in fact, everything is much more complicated. First of all, you need to decide what purpose it is purchased (for work or for home, for going out into nature, for diving, for speleology, etc.), and also it is necessary to find out how often it will be used.
Batteries used in flashlights can be built-in or replaceable. Most often in our market you can find battery lights using the following batteries:
- Lithium-ion batteries 18650 - have a large capacity (compared to others), and therefore provide a longer work from one charge;
- Lithium battery CR-123 - with a relatively "modest" size has enough capacity, and therefore usually used in small-sized flashlights;
- AA batteries AA and AAA are convenient because they can be replaced with conventional similar batteries if necessary.
The next thing you need to pay attention to when choosing a battery lamp is the light source used in it. In this capacity can be used:
- Krypton lamps - compared to conventional incandescent bulbs give 70% more light;
- Energy saving light bulbs - give 50% more light than conventional (at the same power consumption), but the light from them can only be scattered;
- Halogen lamps - shine most brightly;
- LEDs - consume little energy and have a long service life.
The lantern battery can be both manual and headlamp. There are large portable lights, as well as lights that can be used as a headlight when riding a bicycle. In any case, choosing a flashlight, one should take one that has the best dust and waterproof properties, is more shock-resistant and, naturally, shines as long as possible from the available power sources.
