How is the development of a child under one year old?

It is not uncommon for young parents to hear complaints that the neighbor's boy has already mastered coups on his tummy and back, and his niece quickly learns space on all fours, at a time when his beloved child is not in a hurry to join the achievements of his peers.

Is it worth worrying about this? How should the child's development take place before the year? What is considered the norm, and what is the deviation? Yeah. Young mothers and dads look like five-year-olds. They pelted the district pediatricians with their endless questions about the correct development of the baby for up to a year and unrest about his behavior in the first year of life.

Before panicking, parents should remember that each child is individual and develops in its rhythm. But the main stages of development, it is still worth knowing. That in case of finding deviations in time to take action. And we all know perfectly well that the sooner we pay attention to the delay in development, the easier it is to cope with it.

The main stages of the child's development

Development of a child up to a year consists of four stages. Pediatricians divided the first year of life of the child for three months. But this does not mean that all infants need to be compared on a scale. If your child is practically healthy, but does not have enough time for children of his own age, do not rush to rank him as a retarded person.

  1. Breasts from birth to 3 months

As a rule, by three months the child confidently keeps his head in an upright position. When he puts it on his tummy, he firmly leans on the handles, raises his head and confidently turns it, getting acquainted with the surrounding situation. In the supine position, the baby plays with suspended toys, draws attention to people standing side by side, makes the first sounds - agguces and babbles.

  1. Children from 3 to 6 months

The development of an infant takes pace. He independently turns from back to stomach and from stomach to back. He rises more confidently on the straightened arms lying on his stomach and shows an interest in what is happening around. At this age, the child begins to turn to moving objects and things located in the distance. He has a color vision, and so he begins to recognize the toys in color. Lying on the back, there are skills of shifting toys from hand to hand. The pens hold closer to the middle of the torso, raise their legs and try to catch them by the feet. Voice sounds become more diverse, the child babbles on chant.

  1. Babies from 6 to 9 months

Children at this age tend to get on all fours and try to move. First they swing from side to side, then try to make the first steps forward or back. Often a child can easily retreat, rather than move forward. This is normal. Because the vestibular apparatus is just beginning to develop. The kid makes attempts to sit on his own and confidently sits if he is put in prison. He shows interest in games. Especially he likes playing together with adults and children of his age. Actively explores and studies surrounding things, toys. Everything tries to try "in the teeth." Curiosity and observation are shown. The first favorite toys appear. With pleasure she utters sounds, repeating intonation for her parents.

  1. Children from 9 to 12 months

Your kid by this age has acquired a lot of skills. He sits down and confidently sits for a long time. Actively moves on all fours, exploring every corner. The first attempts are made to stand up independently, using furniture and the walls of a crib or an arena as support. The child is used to the constant presence of adults and he has the first fears of being abandoned. Normal development of a child up to a year predisposes to a conscious manifestation of emotions: he laughs when he is happy and cries in case of distress. He understands comforting words. The first syllables appear in the speech, such as ma-ma, pa-pa, ba-ba, yes-yes. He knows close people.

All the above information is based on statistical research. This may mean that in most cases the development of a child for up to a year is exactly the same. And yet, it is worth remembering the individual abilities of children and not panic beforehand. Consult a doctor who will answer all your questions correctly.
