Children's vaccinations - do or not? And how to prepare for them?

Children's vaccinations are a measure that helps protect a huge number of babies from a variety of diseases. But recently many parents began to doubt the need to vaccinate their children. After all, there are cases when complications arise after this process, which frighten young mothers and dads. Therefore, many families discuss the following questions: "Do you need to do vaccinations? And if so, what should be the preparation for them? ".

Let's start with the fact that, in fact, after any vaccination, various complications can arise. Therefore, there is no guarantee that a child will tolerate even the simplest vaccination. But in spite of the fact that vaccinations for children can cause unpleasant consequences, do not forget that the statistics of the spread of diseases such as whooping cough, tuberculosis and diphtheria is growing every year, and often they cause serious complications or even lead to death. Therefore, before writing a waiver of one or another vaccination, it is worth investigating what's what. The same parents who are determined to vaccinate their child, you need to learn several rules.

How to prepare a child for vaccination

The main factor in the negative reaction of the child's organism to childhood vaccinations is the presence of a disease, which sometimes does not manifest itself and proceeds in a latent form. In other words, one can not vaccinate a baby, who is currently ill with any colds. Even if one of the members of the family falls ill, you can not vaccinate a child. The vaccination is allowed not earlier than two weeks after the recovery of the child or other family members.

But even if all these rules are observed, parents should be prepared for the fact that childhood vaccinations can give a small reaction in the form of fever or allergic rashes. To smooth out these effects, several days before vaccination, all foods that can cause allergies should be removed from the child's menu. Also, in parallel with these measures, you can start giving him antihistamines, but preferably those that the child has already received. Some mothers prefer the drug "Fenistil", others - "Suprastin". This "insurance" is necessary not only before the child's vaccinations, but also after them, within 2-3 days.

Actions after vaccination

  1. After the child was vaccinated, do not immediately leave the clinic - stay in it for another 20-30 minutes. If an allergic reaction starts, he will be immediately provided with qualified help.
  2. With a slight increase in temperature, let the baby drink more and wipe it with warm water. If the column of the thermometer shows above 38 ° С, it is necessary to give the child an antipyretic (for example, paracetamol in syrup or to put a candle "Cefekon") and just in case cause a pediatrician.
  3. If there is a lump in the place where the vaccine was given, it is necessary to apply compresses from alcohol diluted in half with water, or cabbage leaf.
  4. Within a week or two after vaccination, do not introduce new products into your diet.
  5. If there are any slight signs of suffocation, immediately call an ambulance. In this case, together with the child, go to the bathroom and open the tap with hot water - hot steam helps to remove the laryngeal edema, and then the attack of suffocation.
