Aristotle Onassis: the path to success

Aristotle Onassis is one of the most charismatic and contradictory personalities of the last century. Biography of this man to this day does not give rest to historians, businessmen and economists, vainly trying to understand the formula for success, which so easily was solved by the Greek billionaire.

Aristotle Onassis: biography

This man favors fate from the very beginning of his life. He was born into a family of a very successful entrepreneur engaged in the sale of tobacco products. This happened in January 1906 in the city of Smyrna. By the way, then this territory still belonged to Greece, and later was annexed to the Turkish state. Today Smyrna is known as Izmir. The boy's parents had everything: a luxurious home, a successful business, impressive incomes. However, with the arrival of the Turkish army, everything came to an end. The family was urgently forced to leave their native lands and fled into the interior of Greece. The son, who by then was a teenager, was sent to Argentina in search of a better life. In a new country for himself Aristotle Onassis was the first to get a job - to the post office in Buenos Aires. And he spent some time, sitting all day long at the post office. However, such a service brought a very low income to the youth, which clearly did not suit him.

Then Aristotle decided to deal with postal affairs on the night shift, and in the daytime to take up the familiar and familiar business for him - trade. And from that moment on his life began to change rapidly. After all, tobacco trade was incommensurably more profitable business. Thanks to his punching abilities, persistence and, most importantly, incredible communication skills, the guy soon managed to put together a small capital. Successful trade not only significantly corrected the financial condition of Aristotle, but also influenced its future fate: on such an enterprising young man drew attention to his compatriots who worked at the Greek Embassy in the Argentine capital. The boy was offered a tempting post of Consul General, which he accepted with pleasure. However, when engaged in administrative work, Aristotle Onassis did not abandon his modest business. And soon the matter became great. Already by the 25th anniversary he earned his first million. A special gift and the experience gained by that time prompted the young millionaire now, where to further direct his stops in business. He quickly orientated himself in the world economic trends of the mid-20th century and concentrated all his efforts on the construction and operation of oil tankers.

In fact, he was the first in the whole world to deal with this matter really large. This allowed him to occupy the vacant niche at that time and earn his first billions. After the astonishing success of Aristotle Onassis, whose photo by that time became known to the whole world, he returned to live in his homeland, Greece. Which, however, did not hinder his mobility. In 1957, the Greek government transferred the national airline to the billionaire, and the latter became their owner and manager. This business he did until the end of his life. One of the most successful people of the last century died a natural death in March 1975. After that he was buried in the chapel on the Greek island of Scorpios.
