Aquatic plant of Cryptocorina pontodercycephalus: description, contents, breeding and responses

The marsh plant of Cryptocoryne Pontederian-leaved was first found in fresh waters on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. It belongs to the Aronian family and can live in the tropics. The leaves of this species of cryptocoryn are similar in form to the leaves of the plant of the pontoderia, due to which the species received its name.

Appearance of cryptocoryns

Cryptocoryn panthedrian-leaved has fairly wide leaves, which grow on long petioles. The bush does not have a stem, but is a bunch of leaves growing from a single rosette. A perennial plant can stretch to 20 or even 25 cm. The lenticular leaf plate grows from nine to fourteen centimeters, and its width is from 3 to 8 cm. The leaves of the plant are smooth and slightly wavy in touch. The top is painted in light green color, and from below the plant is decorated with bright veins of mixed pink and red hues. Lighting, water composition and other conditions affect the color of the leaves and the intensity of the color. The tip of the leaf is pointed, and the base, to which the petiole is attached, is in the form of a heart.

The flower-inflorescence of such cryptocoryn is quite bizarre, of small size and of a complex tubular form. The lower part of the tube is widened, inside is a neat little cob to 3 cm in length. The inflorescence grows in such a way that the upper part is above the water level, and the lower part is in the water. So, the inside is always dry. Moreover, the lower part is separated by a kind of valve. In such a protected area, up to 6 female flowers and more than 100 males are hiding. Male flowers are located higher on the cob.

Conditions of detention

Certainly, the ornament of a greenhouse, aquarium or paludarium can be a plant such as Cryptocoryne pontederiovenous. The content of this aquatic plant, both terrestrial and underwater species, requires special conditions, namely, the humid environment and the tropical climate. Comfort temperature for cryptocoryn is from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius. The nutrient soil must include turfy ground, peat, humus and sand. By the way, the appearance of terrestrial and underwater cryptocoryn is not different.

Cryptocoryne pontederiovenous - a plant with a developed root system. Thanks to it, it keeps firmly in the ground and feels comfortable. Having relatively many leaves, a plant for normal development needs abundant food. Therefore, the soil of the aquarium must be saturated with all the important microelements. You can add clay, peat, silt from another aquarium. Clay is more convenient to add in the form of dried balls or granules. The thickness of the soil is better to have a large, starting from 6 cm.

Requirements for water

After the cryptocorynal greenhouse, the panthedrian (cryptocoryne pontederiifolia) can easily migrate to the aquarium. For this purpose, a warm aquarium is suitable, where the water temperature will be maintained from 23 to 28 degrees Celsius. At a temperature below 18 degrees Celsius, the plant should not be grown. The hardness of water plays an important role . Favorable is considered the medium from 6 to 20. When the water hardness level becomes lower than 4, there is a possibility of occurrence of "cryptocorynal disease". With this disease, the leaves of the plant begin to decay and die. However, in too soft water crypticorin grows unstably. The level of acid-base medium can vary from seven to seven and a half. If the pH level in the hard water rises, nothing wrong with the plant will occur. But in an acidified environment, the plant does not like sudden fluctuations in the balance.

Breeding cryptocorin

Cryptocoryn pteraderivoyvarnaya multiplies in the greenhouse much faster than in the aquarium. In an environment where the climate corresponds to the native tropics, it blooms. As a result, a juicy berry with a seed ripens.

But under artificial conditions this method of reproduction is not used. Vegetative reproduction is much more popular. The root processes of Cryptocoryne pontederiifolia can be separated from the main bush as soon as the third leaf is formed. The daughter bushes appear at some distance from the main bush. After this, a new young plant is planted in the soil in a new place.

Favorable lighting

Cryptocoryne pontederiifolia loves diffuse unsaturated light. If there is an excess of light, the plant begins to attack the lower plants - algae. At the same time, the appearance immediately loses its beautiful sides. But if we create such conditions of maintenance, in which the supply is sufficient only for cryptocoryn, the excess light will turn into an advantage. And the colors of the leaves and inflorescences will become brighter. This can be achieved by introducing top dressing directly under the roots.

Like any aquarium plant, cryptocoryn can tolerate shading, which can affect the pallor of the paint and stretch. Do not experiment with natural light, as it provokes a rapid growth of algae. It will be more appropriate to choose artificial light lamps. An interesting result is obtained by mixing incandescent and fluorescent lamps. The more attractive the crypticorina looks, the better the lighting is chosen.

Requirements for the aquarium

Cryptocoryne pontederievolistnaya reviews of its form is only positive, subject to all rules of care. Once again, attention should be paid to indirect lighting and proper acidity.

In principle, cryptocoryn is an undemanding plant and can live in any, even in a small size, aquarium. This is noted by all plant owners. It looks the best in the middle plan. And if the place allows, then in groups it looks more effective. In the presence of sufficient nutrition, well-chosen lighting and regular water replacement, cryptocoryne pontederi-leaved (Panteidelian) grows fairly evenly.

Like other aquarium plants, it does not tolerate fluctuations in the chemical composition of water. This can happen unnoticed, it just missed the cleaning time, that's the acidity indicator and it changes. In the worst case, cryptocorina pontederiovenous can get sick. In this case, all the leaves disappear from the plant. The owners of aquariums say that you can cure the cryptocory you love, but it's better just not to bring the situation to such extremes.
