The solution of protargol is an antiseptic preparation intended for local use in ophthalmology, otolaryngology and urology. To use this antiseptic, the manufacturer basically recommends in the complex treatment of diseases such as pharyngitis, otitis, rhinitis or conjunctivitis. In adenoids, doctors often prescribe a solution of protargol. The instruction recommends the use of it in case of urethritis or cystitis. In addition, it is possible to use this anti-inflammatory agent as an effective prevention of blepharitis in toddlers. In addition, positive results are noted with the use of this antiseptic drug for the treatment of gonorrhea.

To use a solution of protargol is strictly contraindicated in case of individual patient intolerance to silver proteinate, as well as allergic reaction to any of its derivatives. In addition, it is strictly forbidden to prescribe this anti-inflammatory drug during the lactation period or during pregnancy. Also, the manufacturer does not recommend the use of a protargol solution for children under the age of five.
