However, most often this phrase is used in the concept of "prison". Synonyms for the expression "state house" in this case are such words as a cat, a kutuzka or a snag. In addition to prison, quite often this phraseology is also associated with the hospital.

Thus, in spite of the fact that the "official house" is a fairly broad concept, it is used, as a rule, to designate not very pleasant establishments, therefore it has basically a negative color. As a rule, a library, a school or a university is rarely called a "state house", but in the designation of a prison or a hospital they use it often enough.
