12 strange images on Google Earth

Starting with the mysterious structures in the Gobi Desert and ending with a phantom island in the South Pacific, Google Earth has many interesting places that our planet abounds. You have the opportunity to see the incredible ones themselves.

1. Ghost Island

The word "Hamad" has a height of 800 meters and a width of about 3.2 kilometers, and it can even be seen from outer space. As a rule, words written on sand disappear, but these letters are large enough to form water channels that absorb water.

6. Wild elephants

7. The Gobi Desert

New images of Google Earth revealed a lot of mysterious structures and patterns engraved on the surface of the Gobi Desert. According to experts, this is a secret military base, and the structures found are used for various purposes, including weapon testing, satellite calibration and testing of radar equipment. One of the most complex functions is the so-called Yagi antenna array, which is used to track weather and other atmospheric studies.

8. KFC

Given the huge number of people who study Google Earth in their spare time, it's no wonder that huge advertising images began to appear in remote areas. The world's largest Coca-Cola logo can be seen on the hillside in Chile. It was made from 70 thousand empty bottles. And not far from the highway in Nevada you can see the advertising project of Colonel Sanders - the KFC logo.

9. Considerable shipwreck

The SS Jassim is a Bolivian cargo ferry that ran aground and sank off the coast of Sudan in 2003. This is one of the biggest shipwrecks that can be seen on Google Earth.

10. Lips with access to the sea

These luscious lips are formed by a hill located in Sudan.

11. Australian UFO?

On the map of Australia you can see a strange triangle in the middle of the field, dotted with bright lights. For the first time it was discovered in 2007, and then UFOologists hastened to call it "UFO triangle", because they believed that they could catch the moment when it hovers above the ground. However, other users of Google Earth suggested that the triangle may be associated with the management of an adjacent wind farm. Presumably, the antenna for control has three sets of wires with towers in the middle, which transmit the control signals.

12. The incomprehensible pentagram

In the windy steppes of Central Asia in an isolated corner of Kazakhstan there is a large pentagram that is approximately 366 meters in diameter. The image is engraved on the surface of the earth. A five-pointed star with a circle is located on the southern bank of Upper Tobol, and its image can be easily seen on Google Maps - a more detailed online version of Google Earth.

Many Internet comments link the pentagram to the activities of various religious sects, devil worship, or to the inhabitants of the underworld. In fact, the pentagram only reflects the outline of a park made in the form of a star.
