Which Linux to choose for your PC?

In our time, the computer and software sphere is developing rapidly, there is a lot of quality support, the notion of "competition" comes out to the fore. Long enough, a large private Linux company announced itself that impressed OS users with its professionalism and individual approach, imposing strong competition on popular Windows. However, Linux for beginners in terms of development is quite unusual and quite complex, due to which he has not yet won universal love. But the problem lies not in the complexity of the system, but in our habit of Vindous - it is difficult for us to re-adapt from one axis to another. Nevertheless, many are already actively thinking about what Linux to choose for their personal computer?

Among the huge number of versions and options today, only four came to the fore, which is due to a number of positive sides and a high level of technical support. It's about Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora and openSUSE. Which Linux is better? This issue is no longer relevant, since they all have unique features and significant differences that are convenient for users of a particular field of activity (plus, design and interface preferences).

Which Linux to choose if you are guided by the criterion "Desktop" and its convenience? The most popular among users is the system with the interface GNOME. The distributions of this interface are based on Activities Overview, which allows you to access from a single point to all windows and applications. The system perfectly rebuilds, which allows any user to adapt their work to the maximum in both offline and online mode. GNOME only at first sight will be something new for users of Windows, however after a couple of hours everything becomes clear and accessible. This distribution includes Ubuntu, Mint and Fedora. It is worth noting that different versions of GNOME will require different costs - both temporary and even material.

For example, for a long time GNOME 2.X was the most popular, but Fedora is already based on the third version, which will differ not only in a more complex environment, unlike almost anything else, but will require a graphics board with three-dimensional technologies (although the system is perfectly adapted , So if this criterion is not met, Fallback is included - adaptation). By the way, the interface here is the most uncomfortable.

Mint, unlike the above-described colleague, allows you to choose from several variations of your own base, and more specifically: GNOME 3.2, MGSE and MATE (GNOME branch 2.32). All of them are radically different, but there is always an option to restructure on what is exactly right for you.

Ubuntu, in fact, the most simple and really understandable system, without unnecessary problems. Most likely, if you just decided to turn to the lineup of this system and wondered which Linux to choose, the choice would fall on it. Here, the universal features of the interface, the main applications, nothing superfluous or incomprehensible. For beginners - the best option for getting to know Linux.

If you looked in the direction of openSUSE, then you should know that this system works on the KDE distribution, where the focus element instead of Activities Overview is Workspaces. I will say from my own experience that for work this is a very convenient system, which is much faster than its "comrades", with a user-friendly interface and perfectly interacting applications.

What Linux should I choose if I focus on the distribution in the packs and the ease of finding and installing other programs? The question is interesting, but not complicated. All systems, in principle, have standard features, but the simplest in terms of searching for and following the installation of various programs will, of course, Ubuntu, so newcomers once again recommend it.

If it comes to questions about the purpose of the system, that is, for work or simple pastime, then we can say this: Ubuntu is for beginners, Mint is for advanced users, and Fedora and openSUSE are for real developers (although the two previous ones are a little behind).
