Orthodox beads - a symbol of faith and decoration

To date, rosary is an auxiliary element when reading prayers or mantras, and just decoration. The origin of them does not have any date, different sources indicate different periods. However, all the research is reduced to one opinion: by their appearance they are indebted to Indian traditions and beliefs. Rosary is used in various religions: Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, which has many currents. The main are Orthodoxy and Catholicism. They have a difference in the design of temples, the management of services, clerical attire. And, of course, Orthodox rosaries differ from those used in Catholicism. It is believed that they began to be used approximately in the IV century, they are associated with the name of St. Pachomius.

Initially, the Orthodox beads served monks for counting the number of prayers during the day or service. According to the canons of the church, the monk must constantly be in prayer, which must come from the depths of the heart. And in the novices and monks came a lot of people who could not read, write or count. All of them were given a rope, on which after every prayer it was necessary to tie a knot. Thus, initially the Orthodoxy in Orthodoxy did not have the form of a closed ring, as in the modern world.

In a later period, a string or string was stringed with beads of various shapes from a wide variety of materials and fixed in the form of a circle. In the Catholic church, rosaries are called "rosarium" - a crown, and in Orthodoxy - "ladder" (a ladder to God). From the materials we use fishing lines or strong cords, round or oval beads, beads in the form of three-dimensional geometric figures. Initially performed rosary of wooden elements. But over time they began to be used not only by priests and monks, but also by parishioners. And rich families, in order to stand out, began to order the masters of the rosary of precious and semiprecious stones.

In general, Orthodox beads in the classical version - it is a strong natural thread with strung wooden beads, at the junction - a wooden cross and attached to it a brush. The number of beads varies from 10 to 1000 pieces, their diameter is individual. But the most common are Orthodox rosaries for 100, 12 and 24 beads. Catholic are distinguished by the fact that after a closed circle on a cross there is depicted the three-dimensional crucifixion of Jesus Christ with his legs crossed.

Jade rosaries came to our world from Buddhism and Hinduism. In addition to other dogmas and postulates that form the basis of beliefs, they also attached importance to stones. Therefore, minerals that bring happiness and luck to one person, according to the teachings, can bring misfortunes and problems to another. Jade rosaries not only help to focus attention, develop the motor skills of the fingers and calm the nervous system, but also change the destiny of the person, awakening in him a sense of justice, courage, love, driving out negative thoughts leading to various unworthy actions. But the Orthodox rosary of jade will not bring luck to family people. This stone requires a detachment from the world and communication with people, so it is more suitable for novices or adepts of faith.
