Making a swan from an old tire: a master class
The resulting work can be used not only as an ornament, but also as a beautiful flower bed. There are many methods for producing it, but they are all divided into two groups: with or without a tire. We will consider the first option.
To get a swan from an old tire, you need:
- Old car tire. Please note that it must be worn out, with a worn out layer of rubber and without metal inserts. The fact is that from such a material making a swan from an old tire will be the most effective.
- Strong wire. It is useful for fixing the neck of the future bird in a level position, so that the swan looks proud and slender. Otherwise, the rubber will hang out and spoil the whole look.
- Screws (several pieces).
- Chalk (for marking).
- Drill and drill 3-4 mm.
- Electric jigsaw or sharp sharp knife.
- Bulgarian.
- A paint of white and red shades.
- We divide the surface of the tire by chalk into two parts in width.
- We note the sharp shape of the beak in the form of the letter V and draw from it exactly two parallel lines from one horizontal marking to the other. So the neck of the swan is created.
- We make cutouts with electric jigs on the lines. If there is no such tool, a strong sharp knife will fit, which, when used, should often be soaked in soapy water, so the work is simplified.
- This stage is the most time consuming, because it is very difficult to turn the tire inside out. You can do it yourself: step on one side of the wing of a swan, and turn the other. If it's too difficult, ask for help from a friend.
- We bend out of the wire a shape that will fix the neck of the swan. It should be 20-30 cm longer than the neck itself to go into the tire.
- We make holes in the tire with a drill (pair) and fix the wire.
- After cuts, the edges are uneven. To correct this defect, you will have to work with the Bulgarian.
- Now we paint the whole tire in white (silver, black, bronze) color, and the beak - in red.
- In order to make the bird more believable, you can make her eyes with two small pieces of rubber, fixed with screws. Making a swan from an old tire is complete!
It will be nice to look a masterpiece if you create for it something like a pedestal from the same tire, in which you can plant flowers. If you want to make more original wings, then you will have to work hard: cut a lot of feathers from plastic bottles, repaint them white and form a wing, fixing the feathers to the metal grill on both sides. Make two wings, attach them to the tire.
Making swans from old tires is a very interesting creative process, as a result of which unusual decorative elements appear!
