Kalanchoe Degremona: description, care, healing properties

Kalanchoe daigremontiana (Kalanchoe daigremontiana), or plant-doctor, is a representative of tropical juicy (succulent) plants of the genus Kalanchoe of the Tolstyank family, hundreds of species of which grow in the tropical belt of South Africa, Asia and the island of Madagascar. Kalanchoe Degremona - a standing shrub 50 to 70 cm high with a thick, powerful stalk and fleshy grayish-green leaves - the growers are grown in indoor conditions and greenhouses. The edges of its shiny leaves are hung with brood buds, from which "babes" develop - tiny plants with roots. They easily leave the jagged edge of the leaf and just as easily take root in the soil. This decorative plant is also considered medicinal. Information on the therapeutic properties of Kalanchoe Degremon, a photo of which is presented below, appeared relatively recently. Freshly squeezed leaves of the plant successfully treat the common cold in adults and children. If you chew a leaf of Kalanchoe of this species, the condition of the patient with quinsy will improve. There is evidence that the "rescue" of an attack of bronchial asthma can be the same way - chew the Kalanchoe leaf Degremona.

Care of the plant

It is quite easy to take care of this plant. It is necessary to place a pot of light-loving Kalanchoe on the intensively sunlit window sill, and in summer it is preferable to find a place for the plant in the fresh air. At home Kalanchoe Degremona grows on sandy soils, therefore for indoor dilution it is recommended to take loose, air-permeable soil with the addition of coarse-grained sand and a small amount of peat. The pot may be small in size, but necessarily with good drainage. You do not need to wet the soil. Kalanchoe is quite a moderate watering in the summer season, and in winter the unpretentious plant needs only limited watering. Its pink flowers on long pedicels blossom in the winter. Kalanchoe Degremona is resistant to all kinds of pests and diseases. In cases where the plant is too wet or kept at low temperatures, it can suffer from gray mold, aphids and scabs.
