Chronic endometritis and pregnancy. Is it possible?

The area of diseases studied by gynecology, unfortunately, is very extensive. Among them there are acute forms, and diseases that have become chronic. One of these ailments is chronic endometritis.

The causes of chronic endometritis, diagnosis, symptoms are well studied in medicine, one of the main directions in the study of the disease - chronic endometritis and pregnancy has been studied, effective methods of treatment have been found. A similar diagnosis is being made now in 14% of cases of gynecological pathologies.

To begin with, chronic endometritis is an inflammatory process. It arises because of poor treatment of acute endometritis. Inflammation occurs due to various factors that cause injury to the uterus, cervix as a result of abortion, other surgical interventions (blowing pipes, scraping, numerous cervical ruptures during childbirth, etc.). A strong catalyst that enhances the symptoms of chronic endometritis is weakened immunity.

The whole point of the problem called chronic endometritis and pregnancy is the formation of intrauterine adhesions, the so-called synechia, and intrauterine seals (sclerosing). As a rule, such "traces", formed from a single case of inflammation of the walls of the uterus, remain there forever. Further, the endometrial receptors begin to function incorrectly as a result of sustained trauma. This is expressed in malfunctions of the menstrual cycle, abnormal maturation of the endometrium (thickening) in the second cycle period. These pathologies are already sufficient to doubt the combination of endometritis and pregnancy, because they cause spontaneous miscarriages and often even infertility.

But chronic endometritis and pregnancy are not in all cases mutually exclusive concepts. Due to disruptions in the functioning of the endometrium and its poor preparedness, important processes on the path to conception are hampered, the introduction of the fetal egg and its development are disrupted. Of course, a woman whose diagnosis is chronic endometritis, pregnancy may occur, but the likelihood of this is very small and the best way is considered a preliminary examination with a specialist.

In order to properly treat chronic endometritis, it must be accurately diagnosed. The diagnosis of the disease is based on its clinical manifestations, namely, aching abdominal pain, uterine bleeding of various degrees in any period of the cycle, seals in the uterus and its soreness with gynecological examination, purulent discharge, having an unpleasant smell. The diagnosis is clarified during the ultrasound examination, the final confirmation is made by the method of histological examination of the scraping of the endometrium.

It also happens that with a gynecological examination, a woman is diagnosed with chronic endometritis, and the pregnancy is still there.

A disease that causes anxiety for any woman during this period becomes much more dangerous. If the early stage does not reveal inflammation and do not undergo a course of treatment, then the disease can affect the fetus, and then the fetus. A sad end in this scenario may be the death of a child in the womb.

As a rule, the treatment of chronic endometritis is complex. It includes the therapy of diseases that are concomitant, and is based on the adoption of restorative, sedative drugs, vitamins. Physiotherapy, which activates endometrial receptors, is also prescribed.

At the stage of exacerbation of the endometritis, the doctor prescribes antibiotics, the most effective is to inject them directly into the lining of the uterus. Treatment with antibiotics in the period of remission is considered unreasonable.
